Placer County: ‘More Than You Can Imagine!’

PLACER COUNTY, CALIF. – Senior Softball USA is bringing the very popular California Cup tournament back here in 2013 in what promises to be highly anticipated event for players and local officials.

Placer County has become something of a mecca for senior softball for many years and has served as the host city to the Western Nationals in addition to the California Cup.

“We expect the Cal Cup to be one of the premier tournaments in California in 2013,” said Fran Dowell, Executive Director of SSUSA. “South Pacer offers a softball-rich tradition with great fields, a wonderful area to visit and large number of teams.”

She noted that the tournament will run from July 5-10 and more than 80 teams are expected to compete.

The facilities are some of the best in the region and include at Maidu Softball Complex in Roseville and Foskett Softball Complex in Lincoln.

While most of the teams competing in the tournament naturally hail from California, many teams from out-of-state have been coming to the Golden State to play over the last few years. As a result, the California Cup is rapidly becoming one of the hot tickets for tournament teams.

The South Placer location offers visitors a wide variety of options before of after tournament play. It’s an easy drive up to Lake Tahoe or over to the Napa wine region. In addition, there’s plenty of nightlife in the immediate area as well as in neighboring Sacramento.
