LAS VEGAS – The largest tournament in senior softball will expand to a third weekend in 2015 to accommodate the rapid growth of the World Masters Championships and the addition of the International Pacific Rim Championships.

In response to requests from teams and to allow time for the Pacific Rim Championships, the second section (Men’s 65-85 divisions) has been changed to three days from four days.

Tournament officials announced these dates for the 2015 LVSSA/SSUSA World Masters Championships:

Sept. 25-27: Men’s 55 and 60

Sept. 28-30: Men’s 65, 70, 75 and 80

Oct. 1-2: Men's 85

Oct. 1-2: International Pacific Rim Championships

Oct. 2-4: Men’s 50, Women’s 40 and 50

Oct. 23-25: Men’s 40, Click Here for Men's 40 Division Tournament Page

“The WMC set a record in 2014 with 506 teams and these moves will allow us to not only grow, but to give teams better schedules,” said Terry Hennessy, SSUSA’s chief executive officer.

“The tournament is one of the best for great competition and great venues. The scheduling allows time to sight see Nevada. The umpires are some of the best and the directors are on top of every situation. It’s one of the best run tournaments in the country.”
– Jim Sears, Hamel Builders/Superior Senior Softball, Men’s 65 Major-Plus

“It’s a big draw to go to the Las Vegas Worlds Championship as it features great competition. We strive to be the best team in the country and to be recognized for winning the Triple Grand Slam!”
– Don Farber, San Francisco Seals, Men’s 75 Major-Plus

“The Vegas tournament is fantastic. All of the facilities have been wonderful. We look forward to this tournament every year. There are great hotels in Las Vegas, the weather is always perfect, and the tournament attracts a lot of teams. We’ve been playing with SSUSA for 10 years now and Vegas Worlds is always one of the most competitive tournaments in the country.”
– Bob L. Kolvitz, Old Style/Windy City Softball, Men’s 55 Major Plus

“Coming from the Midwest, our team doesn’t get the chance to play a lot of different teams in our age bracket. Going to the Worlds allows us to compete against the best teams in the country.”
– Lance Riddell, Pope Transport, Men’s 60 Major

“This is the Granddaddy of the tournaments. Everyone says ‘World or World Championships,’ but there are no ifs, ands, or buts about it, this is the best. East and West Coast teams rarely get to meet. You get that here in a firstclass environment on first-class fields.”
– Dale Hood, Metro Hitmen, Men’s 60 Major

“Great competition. Lots of other teams with great individuals. I LOVE VEGAS. We stay at the Fremont; great fun, great rates, and great restaurants.”
– John Haley, Syracuse Cyclones, Men’s 65 AAA
