| Aug. 18, 2008 sbsoftball | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Home plate The way I understand the rule for Line or Plate. If there is a 2nd plate (safety plate) to be touched, then you must touch it! If there is a line drawn then you must have a foot (ON THE GROUND) on the line or past the line before the catcher has the ball. NOT across the plane of the line or 2nd plate. |
| June 21, 2007 sbsoftball | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Plate & Mat SCMAF is where I first incountered the mat, as far as I can remember 1975 (somewhere around there) I started playing and the rec leagues all used them. SCMAF (Southern California Municipal Athletic Federation) had always used them. ASA & USSSA used the strike zone (front knee, back shoulder). Easier to call strikes and balls because they were judgement. |

| April 24, 2007 sbsoftball | Topic: Women's softball Discussion: Santa Barbara Santa Barbara is alive and well for the Tournament May 19-20. Teams have expressed interest in coming. Deadline is 14th May. As you know Santa Barbara is expensive for Hotels / Motels, so either find the nearest Motel-6 (7-in area) or try Ventura / Oxnard area. The teams going to Oxnard I will try to contact on site with them and find out if they are interested in May tournament. Last year cancelled due to MOTHERS DAY. Paul 805-448-8418 cell |
