| June 4, 2014 rightrj1 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Throwing While playing in Reno this past weekend, I had the pleasure of getting 6 assist while playing my right field position…I think I have an above average throwing arm….I think throwing is God given…Not like hitting where if you’re a bad hitter, you can become a good hitter just bye practice! I was asked how can you a better thrower, and my answer was you either have a good arm or you don’t. Long toss may make it SLIGHT better, but over all we all have what we have when it comes to throwing……..What do you guys think? Can an average arm , become a GUN just bye practicing? |

Ivan was a BADDDD MAN with that softball bat.....I had the pleasure of seeing some those Bombs go over my head as well as the fence on several occasions...He is a Legend On the Black Softball circuit and his Hendrick's teams were always one of the favorites in most of the tournaments he played in... Great Guy, Great teammate! He was quiet, but always took time to have a nice conversation with me! You will be missed! Ron Chenier |

| May 1, 2014 rightrj1 | Topic: Bats Discussion: Bat Makers I wondering what bat manufacture you guys think overall is the best, most consistence when it comes to Senior Bats and what are wants & desires are as players? My vote goes to combat, over the years, IMO they always seem to come out with several different types of Senior Softball bats that have Performance, Durability, Swing weight, feel, Good Pop along with a nice break in period. I think their overall inventory is more consistence with what we as Senior Softball players want in a Senior Bat! (No I don’t get paid my Combat) I know other Bat makers & Players have the favorites, but I was just wondering what the masses thought as far overall inventory? |

Just remember OLD MEN, If you can't Hit a softball on a consistence bases now, what makes you think you'll be a better hitter just because there's a curve in the BAT? "Its not the BAT its the BATTER". I know Alan & Webbie to be Outstanding Men, but I guess the LOVE for NEW Toys will keep our interest in the new Technology! Please purchase this bat, knowing that it will NOT increase your production at the plate...WE ARE WHO WE SAID WE ARE! |

| Dec. 9, 2013 rightrj1 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: New rule The rule will make teams and pitchers chose if they want to play in SSUSA events....Our team has already decided to limit the tournaments sanctioned bye SSUSA to 2 0r 3 in 2014,as compare to the 6-10 we've played in the past....My experience has been, the more gear a pitcher wears, the more guys WON"T have a problem hitting the middle, they won't do it on purpose, but if they do, they won't feel bad cause he's wearing protection gear! IMO SSUSA should have done a players vote for this rule change or at least a survey...Once they see the $$$ going down, they'll change their thinking on this rule! JBTexas makes a great point, the mask does limits your view of the ball coming off the bat....My question to SSUSA is, why would you even bring this rule into play? How many pitchers have complained that this was needed? I see more infielders getting hurt from bad hops from poor field conditions then pitchers getting hurt with balls hit up the middle....If you really want to protect pitcher, GET THE RUBBERS REMOVED FROM ALL fields, they are more dangerous then Hitters hitting the middle! |

Tim.....I will answer your questions as I did earlier in the thread..... FROM THE MOUTH OF SSUSA DIRECTOR!!!! SSUSA WILL NEVER CATER TO A GROUP OF PLAYERS THAT DON'T MAKE THEM $$$$$$ that means as far as Major + & the Women's divisions are concern! From a business stand point, their correct! Remember SSUSA doesn't need the Major + the Major + Players need SSUSA, if we want to play! Since we pay the same fees as the other divisions, you would think it would be different! Mike you & I will have to agree to disagree on this one! This is a hobby for the players, if it was business, I'm sure we would take our $$$ somewhere else. It would really be nice to have a choice, but ASA is weak on the west coast & usssa won't allow Senior Bats they also want to have a screen on the field.... So Tim what can 1 of 200 players nation wide do???? Stay home on the weekends & play with MOMMA??....lol |

Jawood, Taking into account the time limits, then we only played 3 games…….The director will never be fired!!! Management has his back!!! To me, the only way to fix this, is a team limit…1st 400 team entered get in, we only have a limited # of fields to handle 400 teams…or if you want more teams, spread the tournament out over the entire month… All Major + divisions 1 weekend, Majors the next weekend, AAA following, then AA….make all seeding games 65-70 minutes…Bracket games 7 innings, that way everyone gets what they pay for!! SSUSA still get all their money & Us Players get to play!!! Just my 2 cents! |

Tim, This happen to my team Rated...We were told that because of the league that plays at Sunset Park all games had to be completed bye 3pm....however we were also told that because of all the extra 40 teams there ,that need to play, is another reason for the cut in our games....They cut the ladies games to 5 innings because they had no lights!!! We played 2 games Friday, 1 Saturday & 1 Sunday.....Now the killer, I over heard 1 director say SSUSA will NEVER FIX MAJOR PLUS because we don't make them $$$$$$$$$$$.....They said that with only 200 players Nation wide their only job is to give the + players somewhere to play!!! Not cater to them, they said the same goes for the Women divisions.......Looks like only AA, AAA & Majors get the LOVE!!!! |

Swing & I have been greaty disappointed in the Blue MM and all I swing is Combats, so I'm a big Fan of Combats! I have one of each, Gray De BomB, White & Black Centerian, Red dirty, & the last Yellow MM They ALL out preformed the Blue MM.....I guess from Combat's standpoint, they can have 1 Boo Boo out of the group.....lol |

I understand you’re an employee of SSUSA & have to take their side & I’m sure there are plenty of guys on the AA & AAA level that know how to play the game……This was about the Major + division!! However my point being that the more talented players play in the Majors & Major + divisions & their concerns for the game seems to fall on deaf ears when it comes to their needs or wants……We all understand this is a business for you & yours & that the revenue is generated from the lowers divisions…….Therefore, I stand by my statement!! Sorry if you or anyone else was offended or perceived I was generalizing.... |
