| July 30, 2012 rightrj1 | Topic: Bats Discussion: White Centenarian Short barrel Ur Welcome Cheezhed, Some guys really like the Blue MM! Why? I have no idea! I purchased 2 of them and after swinging the Yellow MM for 2 seasons, the blue MM was a step back for Combat. They since have made it better bye producing the Black & White centerian both are very durable with pop. I have since located a brand new Yellow MM that I will get broken in and NEVER EVER USE in BP, IMO the Combat Yellow MM is bye far the BEST Senior Bat there has been if you're looking for durablity, distance and a nice feel swing! |
| July 30, 2012 rightrj1 | Topic: Bats Discussion: White Centenarian Short barrel It all depends on where you purchased your bat…I have both versions the USA version and the Canadian version, IMO the Canadian version has more pop and doesn’t have the paint chipping issues that USA version has. However the Canadian version has a smaller knob and may feel a little different to some! Both seem to be very durable. IMO this is the best Combat on the market since the Yellow & White came out a few years ago. If you’re a pretty good hitter and know how to hit, you won’t notice the 3” different in the barrel from 13 to 10. |
| July 18, 2012 rightrj1 | Topic: Bats Discussion: gsc bat latest web site update Sal, I had the same issues, but they were not with Steve and his company! They were with the Gate’s bat company and Mr. Gates was the one who made all the promises, not Steve! I think Steve saw all of us getting screwed and he step in Fired Mr. Gates, and has as far as I know been real upfront as to the progress of his new company and the bat being released! If the man wants to name his company after GOD, what’s wrong with that? I think its great marketing!! The funny thing about all the guys who are complaining is that they DON”T even has a vested interest in the Bat…. Swing? the guys who are running this company, have played the game, I know Steve is a good hitter…They may decide that the bat is READY bye doing their own BP testing! Not by giving us samples for our review! |
| July 18, 2012 rightrj1 | Topic: Bats Discussion: gsc bat latest web site update Guys, who are complaining about the way a NEW COMPANY that’s just getting started, need to try and start one for themselves! Or better yet purchased a company from someone who already has clients. I personally purchased 3 of the bats. I think Steve’s a stand up guy!I Just played ball with him this past weekend! He has told me numerous times, when the bats are released (We will be pleased) and that I along with everyone else that was done wrong bye MR. Gates and the Gate’s Bat Company would be taken care of! Why does one have to have prior experience running a company? To be CEO of a new company! Maybe Steve just has a lot of money and he decided to buy a Bat manufacturing company? Guys relax, play some softball. I think when released and it will be released, the bat will perform just as well, if not better then our currents bats that we all currently have in our bags! As someone has said ….STOP BEING GRUMPY OLD MEN….. |
| July 11, 2012 rightrj1 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: PLAYER RELEASE Bob, I totally agree with you on this one! It shouldn’t matter if the coach doesn’t commit to the preseason schedule or not…If a player want to be release from that team IT SHOULD BE THE PLAYER'S CALL not the manager’s. I’ve heard managers will do this to players out of spite, how is it that the manager’s have the final word? If I play for you, then ok no problem….but If I want to be release, then I have to kiss your A$$ to get it done…..That just isn’t right!!! PERIOD! |
| June 4, 2012 rightrj1 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Discussion with rightrj1 Hi Nancy, I’m very familiar with BASA. I’ve been playing in that association for well over 25 years. They do tend to understand the gamesmanship I have been speaking about…It’s very entertaining to watch and hear……Maybe the correct phrase should-not be TRASH TALKING” I never understood why some folks get upset when they hear something that may take them out of their game, but it is what it is!…Just from the responses on this topic, we’re beating a dead horse! Most of the guys who say it has no place in Senior Softball have no problem TRASH TALKING to umpires. I think GSWP001 said it best it’s “An on going good natured discourse” and those that have never done it will NEVER EVER understand the good nature it brings to the game…..Ok I’m done on the subject…Guys please don’t beat me up too bad….lol |
| May 29, 2012 rightrj1 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Talking Trash Crusher, I see you have a some Punk / Bully in yourself……I see you also know how to trash talk!!!! I wasn’t singling out anyone on this thread, so why would you do it to me? “You could leave this board forever and take gary19 with you” was that really called for? I was raised to respect my elders, but I’ll make an exception in your case, since you’re running off at the mouth…..We’ll just have to agree to disagree on this subject, but you should never say there’s no place for trash talking in Senior Softball, because that’s exactly what you do on this web site! So maybe you should think about leaving the site also…THAT WAY YOU'LL HAVE A PRODUCTIVE DAY! |
| May 28, 2012 rightrj1 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Talking Trash Wow!!! You guys sure took this to another level? Bullying, Punks, inferior, Immature. I was just asking if you have a defensive advantage bye saying something to get in their heads….I see noting wrong with playing mind games with your opponent….You guys are way too SENITIVE to be 50+…I’m sorry I started the thread!!!! |
| May 27, 2012 rightrj1 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Talking Trash I understand how some of you don’t like it……but if you know someone doesn’t like it, doesn’t that give you an advantage over that opponent? Here’s an example; Easy out coming to the plate, he can’t hit! Doesn’t that put pressure on the guy coming to the plate to perform? He’s thinking now…I think that’s good defense…. No one liked Ali cause he could back up everything he was saying…..Most guys who talk trash, (IMO) are better players because they have to be! Not the weaker opponents some of you have mention earlier. I’ve never heard a sorry player talk trash!!!! Only the better players….Birdie how can you tease your teammates and not your opponents? We all play mind games with our opponents, so what’s the different in saying what you’re thinking…..To me if someone talks trash it’s just more motivation to do well...…brings it on!! Thanks guys, it's nice to hear what others think about it! |
| May 27, 2012 rightrj1 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Talking Trash Guys, I was wondering what you guys think about trash talking? My view is that’s its good defense….I mean, if I know I can get in your head (you know who you are) bye shouting something to you from the outfield or messing with your head while catching, is that not good defense? I was once told that 80% of softball is thinking and 20% is ability, then what’s wrong with a little mouth jarring? A lot guys get upset when they hear someone say something to them while at the plate, to me that’s motivation to do what I do and shut you up! I know there’s a fine line between talking trash and unsportsmenship, but knowing your opponents weaknesses is also part of the game…Mentally or Physically........Just like Gary19 does on this Site....He knows how to push our buttons....lol |
| May 22, 2012 rightrj1 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Weather in Reno Hey Guys, Dr. George Fishbeck our Reno Weather man says the Temp next week in Reno will be...Highs in the Upper 80's slight wind around 11 mpr, lows in the upper 50's NO RAIN OR SNOW OR SLEEK.........Looks like we be having a lot of softball FUNNNNNNNNNN!!! |
| May 22, 2012 rightrj1 | Topic: Bats Discussion: White Combats The White Centenarian (IMO) is the best Combat out there since the yellow MM, Sorry to disagree also, but the Blue MM FLAT OUT SUCKED and I purchased 2 of them...I put about 50 swings on the White Centenarian and it was game ready. I have 2 White Centenarian's the small knob to me seem a little Hotter then the large knob White Centenarian...But I really like both models...The Black Centenarian seems a little stiffer, but really opened up after about 600+ BP swings. |
| May 11, 2012 rightrj1 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Reno 55 Major + Hey George Hall, Good to know you're still around and kickin..I Here you guys have a mighty strong 55 major + team up there in Northen Cal? | May 2, 2012 rightrj1 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Las Vegas friendships Hey webbie, I think we did have a little conversation, I believe on Friday...I was asking you about your brace cause I notice the knee cap cover you had along with the brace. | May 1, 2012 rightrj1 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Las Vegas friendships Webbie, Sorry we missed meeting eachother, I'm sure we passed eachother a few times going back & forth to the fields..I didn't know you played for Master Collision, otherwise I would have asked someone where were you! I played on the 55 Fangabbers and I saw a few guys from your team, but was unaware which one was you...I need to buy you that beer I owe you....lol Maybe we'll connect in Reno.. Ron FanGrabbers #22 |
| May 1, 2012 rightrj1 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Tourney Format Scheduling This past weekend in Vegas we had a 3 three team tourney in the 55 major + division...2 games on Friday, 2 on Saturday which took all day and 1 game on Sunday....My questions is why can't the 3 team divisions finish their games on Saturday or make it like the 40's and schedule it for a 2 day tourney instead of a 3 day? It makes no since to me to have to hang around all day to play 2 games....or better yet, just have the 3 bracket games played on Friday and the double elim..start on Saturday morning finishing Saturday afternoon..Won't this save SSUSA on paying for extra fields?? Is this asking too much Mr.McDowell? |
| April 11, 2012 rightrj1 | Topic: Product review Discussion: new combat centenarian......short Webbie I agree this is some funny stuff, but he knows what "lit up" means...That why he doesn't play! Gary leave the wife's alone....You don't want them manning up on you! |
| April 10, 2012 rightrj1 | Topic: Product review Discussion: new combat centenarian......short Gary, I bet you have 3 or 4 keyboards in your bag.....Webbie Stop letting this guy suck you in...He knows noting about our sad state of game! Gary it's called FUN!!!! |
