Discussion: LVSSA

I played in a LVSSA tournament years ago that had local members umpiring and also acting as field director/expert and our team got the short end of the calls. Moved to Vegas, became a member of the LVSSA membership and participated in some of the tournaments and realized that the 2 individuals that were the umpire and field director were local players and a very poor choice to be involved in running a tournament. Don't know any of the LVSSA board members now but they are the ones responsible and need to use better judgement running tournaments. Don't cut corners hiring poor umpires just to make a profit.

Discussion: WALMART

Local Wal-Mart stores are not able to raise the price of an item above the corporate price. You probably saw a label of an item next to the milk.

Sam: contact Larry Denzler (520-271-6167) or Chuck Bullard (520-869-0703) who run One Time in the Tucson Sunday league. They are looking for players.

Discussion: George Mccellan Southern Az. legend gone

George Mc. long time player with Boomers, Az. Players, Post 60, Kelly Glass and Scrap Iron passed away on Monday 3/30. Those of us that played with and against him remember him as a great defensive player with a outstanding throwing arm. He was also a very heady player and base runner with the ability to hit line drives to all fields. George's proudest accomplishment in Senior Softball was winning a ring playing with his buddies Dick County and Dave Honor with Scrap Iron.

We will all miss his competitive spirit, love of the game and story telling while sitting around after the game. Rumor has it that he already played a double header going 9 for 8 and throwing out the tying run at home in the bottom of the 7th.

RIP your bud Dave

Have played with Steve for several years and he is a great 3rd baseman and middle of the lineup hitter. Knows how to play the game and would be a great pickup .

Discussion: WHO TAKES CARE OF THE FIELDS @ ARROYO GRANDE?

City of Henderson is the wrong answer. SS-USA and the field director are responsible for having the fields maintained. Even our local Sunday league tournament in December has people prepping the field during the day!

Discussion: AAA Home Runs

I have been playing AAA and up for the last 10 years and have never seen a AAA team hit any where near 18 home runs in any game even with a toronado like wind blowing out. How they got in AAA had to be a screw-up.

I continue to see players complaining about no water in the dugouts. We play in Az. Nm., and Nv. with 100 plus weather June, July & Aug. and we take our own water to the games.

Discussion: Another what's the right call?

Bruce: saw the play and thought the umpire missed it. Rule 8.4 states the orange bag is in foul terriorty and white is fair. Defensive player only has the white bag to touch in fair terrority!

Discussion: pitching motion

Played in Pinetop the past weekend and got into a discussion about the pitching motion about the pitcher for Summit. I know this was not a SSWC tournment and the wife of the pitcher stated that the shuffling of the pitchers feet has been questioned in the past and never been ruled illegal. He shifts his pivot foot taking it off the rubber before releasing the ball and according to rule 6.6 he has to maintain contact with the rubber. I thought this was a no brainer and one team brought this up to the umpire but nothing was called? I would like a ruling>
