Dirty,
Trust me when I tell you the people on this board are not my "friends" as you so wrongly stated. You are correct in that anybody that makes demeaning remarks about people that have devlopmental disibilities is wrong. The second part of my above response is directed to you. Bragging about the fact that you have more than those that are less fortunate because of circumstances they have no control over is also wrong.

Dirty,
Making fun of people with developmental disabilities and their transportation mode and then bragging about that fact that you have more than these individuals from a social standard and intellectual level is really something to be proud and boast about. Classic!

Dirty,
Call them what you want but to me it is nothing more than a great marketing gimmick.
I guess the young crowd will have nothing to look forward to when they turn 50 because many of them are already reaping the benefits of the plastic bat age at 20 and 30. Talk about misguided egos!!!!

Dirty,
Not sure what you mean by "special" technology but the young guys game is also infiltrated with misguided egos. There is no way many of those young guys I play with and against should be hitting balls as hard or as far as they do. Pretty simple.....the bat comapanies found a market that the senior associations will allow. Market it at an affordable price and the rest is history.

What answers are you expecting from such subjective questions? Ones that only require a response for continued debate for argumentative purposes or are they to help facilitate an already established belief that you adhere to and the masses don't?

Brett,
Those guys from Springfield are a little "upity" and would never step foot in Licking. They would however find those 250' fences attractive. MT and SN could then hit a ball out. :)

Brett,
Forget that Midwest Champioships and head on down to Licking, Mo for the 25th Annual "You bring it you hit it"
Slowpitch Tournament. No run rule, no hr limit and you play all 7. If it gets a little dark we line up some trucks and let er rip. It is run in conjunction with the Testicle Festival. All the locals bring in their new recipes and it is a real feast, $10.00 a plate all you can eat. Big dance Firday night and I know a couple of your fellas can cut a rug. It is held at the City Park, 3 fields 250' fences all the way around. The outfields are a little rough...well hell so are the infields but Junior Stallings has been working real hard to get it all smoothed out for the tourney. There may be a rock or two but I bet you have played on worse. Last year was a real barn burner with the Skeeter boys pounding the First Baptist Church 12-2. An amazing 7 balls left the park. Mo Skeeter himself hit 3. So, bring your boys down and see if you can't knock off the defending champs, they can be a real pest at times.

Discussion: Thoughts about the Idea of playing with an extra infielder!

I am a big fan of the "5 man"
If you have three OF that can cover the ground a 5th infielder can be a big advantage providing he knows how to properly play that position. The 5th infielder is really effective if you are playing with a mushy ball.:)
Yes, players are less likely to hit the middle if you have the above in place.

Brett,
Thanks for the kind words. You and I both know that I owe my hitting prowess to you and only you :)

Is there an official bat ban list for senior softball?
If so, where would I find such a list? Thanks!

Hey Mke, I would guess the local batting cages got a good work out this week after the hitting display you and Steve put on last weekend. Talk with you soon!

I would have to agree with juicebaily. The new Combat that I have is not even close to the performance of the Ultra II.

Mike,
No complaints from me about the balls, I thought they were just fine. Enjoyed the tourney. Good luck to those playing in Plano.

Discussion: Ultra II's Why?

Gary19,
Sometimes technology makes things easier for us. In everday life where we don't keep score and we aren't assessing our talents based on others abilities it really doesn't mean much we just enjoy the technological advances. Keep score and have a winner and a loser and it really changes the scope of things. As far as how you are supposed to feel, I can't answer that question only you can.
Have a great season!

Gary19,
Your 50/20 comment was not negative but lightly sprinkled with a little sarcasm. You have made in known you can't understand why people would want to use the Ultra II. I will try and make this simple. They use it because they can. There are no conclusive ends to subjective concepts just interpretation which can become circular in nature. Join the circle!

Everybody makes some sort of contribution during the course of the tournament. When it comes time for the selections just list the team name. Don't we win as a team and lose as a team?

Samp,
Made contact with a couple of guys from your area last year when I was shopping for a team. Monte and Gary that I believe played with a team out of Chicago. Do you know if they still play? I will also be in Plano playing with a team out of Springfield, MO. Springfield Express. Good luck!
