| March 7, 2012 Lang | Topic: Bats Discussion: reebok bat Why is it all of a sudden a lot of these bats are breaking and the paint finish is coming off with less than 25 swings on them? They have decent pop but so do the rest of the senior bats but it is getting some what out of hand that the company will not stand behind their product when it seems to be a defect in the manufacturing of them. I'm just saying? |
| Dec. 6, 2011 Lang | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: SSUSA RULES COMMITTEE 2011 AGENDA SYNOPSIS Lets put the bases back to 70', keep the same bats or we will be in the same position the younger guys are in with all the bat shaving and I do believe that if we went to USSSA bats this would be a wide spread problem and give each team 6-12 balls with the opportunity to by more balls if needed from the directors and have them chase there own balls. Plus with the way the humidity and heat is down here in the south use the Rock by trump it appears to hold up a lot better in these conditions or give us a choice and we supply our own balls with the latter probably the best way to go. |
| Oct. 3, 2011 Lang | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: REVISITING THE EQUALIZER RULE I guess it is becoming almost like rug-rat ball teams don't want to compete they just want to win and we are from the generation that used to come to the park with our team and play whoever showed up. This is SAD. |
| July 28, 2011 Lang | Topic: Website comments Discussion: homerun limits Fellows the question was what has composite bats did for softball? I stated my feelings for them plain and simple. To be blunt if you think that playing with a 52 core ball will be fine for the regular hitter that is ridiculous! If you dummy up the ball someone will find a way to do something to the bats to even the field. It's been happening for years and I believe it is just a way of life now. Why would you go to a gun show with a knife? You could be martyrs and play with wood bats against the rest of the field using senior bats and display your hitting skills against theirs.Softball has changed over the last 10 years more than ever but hitting a good ball is always a good thing. |
| July 27, 2011 Lang | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Todays game? Pricer We take Bp with 3 guys it goes faster and we don't spend a half a day doing it plus we like to hit it is fun to hit a ball squarely frequently so come game time I am ready to hit and hit it good. Not saying defense is not part just the part most of us don't practice. Plus I have usssa that are just as good as my u2 and if you had a bat tester I would venture to say they would probably measure the same on a testing machine |
| July 27, 2011 Lang | Topic: Website comments Discussion: homerun limits Composite bats have only made the guy that could not hit a home run EVER a threat to hit them today. They have made a punch and judy hitter a line drive hitter and put the outfielders on the fence. Guys that have hit home runs all their life hit them, maybe a little farther but they will do that with any decent bat/ball combo. At least now there is no cheating or not much going to usssa bats or asa bats will encourage people to shave bats to achieve the same results that are now accustomed to. |

| July 27, 2011 Lang | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Todays game? Gary How can you really make that statement? I have been playing ball since I was 6 years old just like most of the guys that are playing today and have always wanted to hit the ball.I just don't see how hitting is not a big deal to you. Down here in LA we take batting practice several times a week and have done so for the last 30 years or so and I can count on my hands the number of times we went out to sharpen our defensive skills. To sum it up softball is a hitters game period has been and always will be. The only difference the better teams can do both. |
| July 22, 2011 Lang | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Leave It Go Let's be real At the SPA nationals last weekend in the 50 majors we were allowed 4 home runs and a walk. we had several games were neither team hit their limit.Plus i saw a lot of others that did the same and this was using the good bat/ball combo. What would it have been like if we were to play with a dead ball/bat combo? |
