Discussion: Talk regarding illegal bats

I have played against 1 team in particular that we all know uses a few shaved bats...How do I know?? First couple of days..guys are hitting with very little pop...Come big games...Guys that don't normally hit them out are all of a sudden clearing the fences....This is in Cali and Az...I also had a guy in our league come right out and proclaim..." Just got my bat back for getting rolled "...We thought he was joking....truth is..he was not..A couple of us got together and told him...First of all it's BS that he wold do something like that and second..if we saw him using it..we would call him on it...He is probably one of the best players around this area and already crushes the ball...Makes no sense to me...As far as the team...If it's that important for them to win...I feel sorry for them...One quick note...In a game against another team..this team would use the bats and immediately take them behind the dugout..We already knew why..and one Ump took notice and went to the director..Don't know what happened after that...

Discussion: WHAT IS A MAJOR PLUS PLAYER?

Met Joe in Vegas last year...Just a great guy but I watched him just frickin rake the ball...Seemed like every time I watched, he hit one out..Never played against him due to the fact I don't play at that level, but the thing that impressed me the most was he was just a good guy with a lot of skill.....I'm sure there are more guys like that, I have just never seen a guy his age with that much skill...

Webbie..Speaking for my self...Never been asked..I have the speed and glove but don't hit for much power...I'm also not a big guy..I play 65's and play league with few Major+ guys and hold my own..I also play 60's..In the 60's I have an average arm from the OF...my arm is better than average in the 65's from the OF..I can play anywhere needed but most of the guys I know that are Major+..have a I am better than you attitude...Some are, some aren't..That's just a small samplingi of what I hear from other guys.

JDub...I agree with what you said...Loyalty is way underrated...My mantra " I'm not good but I'm loyal, will be there on time and will play my arse off "..I also live in Az and have also had other offers but prefer to play with my buddies..

17...Can't speak for all but I play for 2 Sponsored teams...They pay tourney fees and supply us with 3 jerseys (each team) and hats..Seems to me that is enough...I know a few guys that also play for different team and the same applies for them. We play 8-10 tourneys a year (both teams)...I have heard of teams that are "free ride" teams...But I have also heard that some of them are cut throat...Doesn't sound like much fun to me..Most of the guys I know are satisfied with uni's and fees paid...Just my .02

southerson...Don't shoot all the dogs because some have fleas..I'm 64. Yesterday we played with 3 teams...rotating each inning...Played 8 innings in 2 hours..I was up 7 times and had a total of 10 pitches...Note that this is a Senior League in Prescott, AZ...Just sayin..I go up to hit as do most of my buddies..

swing...all...I have no problem with either way we go..Interesting conversatio today at our game...Most of the guys I talked to also don't care about 0-0...1-1, 70' bases..But the guys I talked with didn't even vote...Not really sure why ...I do know that quite a few of them don't play Tourneys and don't get on this site...Call it what you will, but none of them voted...That could be a big issue...BTW: I play both 60's and 65 tourneys and like most of you...I just play because I can..

boston..I was in the on deck circle when the skies opened up..After a 2 hour delay...My understanding was the same as yours...The City cancelled the tourney...But the fields where a mess anyway. Kind of a bummer but nothing they could do...

I'm usually the least negative person towards SSUSA..But we were scheduled to play at 11:30 on Friday...Now we are playing at 3:30...Which means I now have to change my hotel reservations at the last minute..The positive is...It saves me one day of a hotel charge..
