Discussion: Taping of bat handle.

Jawood good point the bats we use are so hot now. My opinion is the bats don't last that long anyway,if u shave one of these they couldn't last. Every division has a home run limit now a days. How could u test for this after u break one of these bats in how would it pass compression. Taping bat handles was never the problem. Played Major-plus last 5 years the hitting doesn't leave us its the other parts of the game getting harder lol. Have a great year everyone playing 55 this year.

Xray get ready to spend some money, its gotten a little out of hand I think. Southside plays Major-plus very limited where you can play, Dalton is $750 come the hell on. Registering 15 to 20 players is around $400 for the team, This is to play in 1 tourney. This tourney will generate over $50,000, how much is to much. Then we played SSUSA in Naples FL, have to have card again. played with AMR only 2 Major-plus teams. Then lets talk about Las Vegas same thing. Coach already said no more cost to much. Just my opinion I can't afford to play. Oh well don't play then right!

Well I played in this tourney for last 3 years. Played Major-plus this year, very good competition. We never had a problem at Sandy Springs, Fields were not bad played on lot worst believe me. Softball is not what it used to be, Umpires don't have a chance to please everyone I know I umpire USSSA in Louisville. Why don't u players complaining get you a job umpiring then u might not BITCH as much. See u in Dalton GA.

17Black Grimmie here played in this tourney last 3 years, We had 3 Major teams last year. had OKI & 3 Major teams 2 years before that most teams every in the Major was 4. But you can bet there will be more than 20 AAA teams. There will be 12 to 15 Major teams in the Smoky-Mountain tourney its ISSA only have 3 divisions.

Discussion: Senior HyperZ softball bat

Our 50 & 55 teams out of Louisville were given 8 bats for each team.I swing Miken for 3 years now love Senior bats, the Hyperz swings heavy to me also. All the Senior bats are crazy,Question how many 50 & over would still play if we couldn't swing these hot bats. Would change Senior ball lol.

Discussion: So the question was....how to get more teams to play Major Plus

I'm with cal50 we only need 3 divisions. Dalton GA is the only Tourney around KY,to have more than 5 Major plus teams in it. There were only 2 M+ teams in Naples this year,1 team the year before they didn't even win the tourney I know it was with AMR out of Ohio.

Discussion: Dudley Lightning 12" barrel

I've swung Miken ultra 2 for 3 years, last me about the season with no batting practice or trade in that's cool. This year we have Dudley rep with team so I got balanced 27oz getting it Sunday hitting indoor, players using bat got over 400 swings, believe it when I get that many. TPS Hillerich & Bradsby has prototype bat we swung in practice before Ft Myers Naples FL tourney. not on the market yet, having trouble with amount of swings getting out of bat. Does any of the Senior bats have warranty.

Love Senior ball tg69 great format, I remember Mr Goatley was hitting them out of sight he was around 48 maybe. We did get to play in the best times in softball,Our Region was a hot bed for talent, heck we had over 25 A & above teams in the state of Ky in the late 80's & Early 90's. Now KY has maybe 3 NSA B teams,90% of the kids are playing E ball, My opinion is Bats got crazy when Ultra 1 came out, 170lb players were hitting home runs the big man disappeared. I would still play if they took away the "Senior bats" let the 60 & over players use them 50 & 55 don't need them.Great message board did anybody do the survey for SPA? Omar would like to meet u keep in touch on message board, tg 69 how old are u now?

Yes tg69 form Louisville Ky, And no one ever said anything about other screens in the infield.I know are 3rd baseman plays 20 feet in the grass not even close to pitching.Lots of players try to avoid hitting the middle I know I do, at the age we are its more about fun to me. Very few players even want to pitch in Senior ball still like the screen ideal. Now I play 3rd middle 2nd or 1st I feel a lot safer now.

Love talking about softball lots of different opinions. Lets face we are all over 50 now, most of us have to go to work Mondays. 4 the double play part using screen let us play 11 fielders.
i agree balls in Vegas are very good, travel very fast through the infield. It shows players are concerned about other players safety. Until we use screens I'm going to stay off the mound, hate to admit it, pitched most off my life but I'm scared to get out there can't protect myself at the upper level. Senior Ball is so much fun get to c players from years ago, love the format of tourney play, play your games then go out and eat hope everyone has a great year & a safe one.

I'm 52 pitched for 3 years I'm done pitching. Played Major & Major plus got hit to many times after changing the Home run rule this year. Yes we need a Screen using these bats. Around Louisville we use screen in Leagues u hit it your out, pitcher is dead until ball goes past screen, pretty simple rule.As far as placement screen had to touch the pitching rubber. We're not going to change bats to much money being made bottom line. Its funny the players don't want the screen never pitch lol. love Senior ball, Anybody playing in Tampa FL Jan 23-25? Southside/AMR C u there.
