I also appreciate the additional info shortstopchic10. Made the decision to purchase the Melee3 12" 1 piece after swinging it at last tournament. Am now trying to find a good price on one. Thanks again.

Does the 2021 Melee 3 12 inch End Load have a 1/2 oz end load or 3/4 end load? I've heard it advertised both ways so I'm a little confused. Thanks

Discussion: Selecting a New Bat

Have been reviewing the new Suncoast Melee3 one piece EL and the Worth AT18 Gamer. I like the 1-piece design and 25 oz option for the Melee3. The AT18 Gamer looks like it has more flex and easier to swing. Does anyone have any swing weight information on the 2 bats? Any other comments or suggestions would be welcome. BYW…I enjoy the videos posted by Mr. Tanner as they are very informative and educational for a rec player like myself. Thank you.

Schibs...like you, I also contacted SSUSA and couldn't get any info on teams playing in various age categories. Rumours are just that and come from the uninformed. My outlook is not dim, like Lefty just searching for specific info on teams participating. Take care.

Hi Lefty...our team out of Knoxville, TN is considering playing. However, there seems to be only a few teams participating, none of which are in our age division. Also, heard it might again be cancelled, but this time due to the lack of interest.

Alan...thanks for the video. I found it very informative. Am looking at the New Balance PL4040v4 molded baseball shoe. In reading through the reviews, most purchasers complained about sizing. Specifically, most recommendations were to purchase a larger size than you normally wear. Since I've worn an 11D softball shoe over the years, would you recommend going to a larger size in the New Balance 4040 model?
Thank you.

Discussion: Slide Tube Drills provide Real Swing Refinement and pregame practice Swing Makeover 45

I found this particular swing makeover video to be one of your best as it regards providing specific information on how the slide tube can be a valuable tool in improving swing flaws. My thanks to Bret for not only providing a lot of good info, but then illustrating what he's talking about on video. Being a slower learner of new techniques, it took me several viewings to understand what was specifically being said and illustrated. I've ordered the slide tube and hope to begin using it in the very near future. Thanks again to you, Bret and Steve for all your help.

Discussion: 2015 Softball Magazine Senior Camp

The main reason I decided to attend the Senior Camp was that Bogie and Steve Imlay would be instructing. I was not disappointed as both guys were available full time for all 3 days. Although I have a lot of work to do, I now have tips on how to improve my swing the "right" way...thanks Bogie and Steve.

Also would like to thank both Dennis Turner and Davey Reed. Both great guys. Looking for Davey's exercise band videos for softball players in January. Also left with the Hyper Z bat and bag...thanks Dennis.

Discussion: Tanel cleats

Wore my last pair of Boombah's this year. Comfortable shoe, but come apart after a couple of months. Tried purchasing a pair of Tanel's, and found their website and overall customer service a disaster. Settled on a pair of 3N2 turf shoes. So far, have been very pleased with the comfort, stability and overall durability.

I played this past weekend in the Smoky (not Smokey) Mountain Senior Tournament. Would agree there were problems in how the tournament was run. However, I had a good time and met some great guys. I believe there were over 30 teams, and some great softball played.

Southernson...is that the 2012 Reebok Melee Legend Max Senior or 2012 Reebok Melee Legend Balanced Senior? I've also heard some good things about the Easton Synergy SCX2. So I took a few swings with the SCX2 at BP the other day. Nice light feel...pretty awesome.

HJ...thanks for the excellent input. This will be my last Ultra 2 if it breaks too soon. Am looking at the Combat Centerrian as an alternative.

Discussion: Miken Ultra II balanced and end load.

Have just purchased the Miken Ultra II. Does anyone have any advice/pointers as to how to increase the bat’s durability? For example:
1. Does it need to be turned or not for the first 100 swings or so or does it matter? I get different stories as to whether or not there is a break-in period.
2. Is there a minimum temperature at which you should not use the bat?
3. Other?
Thank you.
