Discussion: 1999-2000 Miken Ultra 2

Just bought a Ultra 2 at a garage sale. I took off the grip, the numbers under the old grip indicated it was made in 1999- 2000, I called Miken and that is what they told me. It has an asa 2000 mark and ISF BPF 120. My question is how good is this bat. There is no SSUSA approval stamp. Thanks for any feedback.

He was hit in the heart area of the chest. I'm just glad he's alright. It gave me a real sick feeling. It could of turned out a lot worse.

Discussion: Pitcher hit by line drive

I hit the pitcher from Code Electric 60's AA with a line drive in Raleigh on Sunday. I would like to know how he is doing. I feel awful about it. Were out there playing a game we all love and hate to see anyone get hurt. Someone please let me know if he is ok. Thanks

Discussion: Talk regarding illegal bats

I was at a tournament last season and saw someone rolling and selling bats from the trunk of his car in the parking lot. There was a line of players waiting to get their bat rolled. As we walked by he looked up at us and stated that the new mikens were hard to break in, as he was rolling a Reebok. So bat altering is happening.

LOL, The funny thing is the shirts were all XXXL and XXL. We only have one guy that wears a XXL. Were an AA team and a lot of our guys are mediums. Some of them would have slid out of the sleeves. They said thats all they had until our manager insisted they get the correct sizes. They had to go to another field to get them, but they did do that for us. I think they did a great job with that many teams. The fields and umpires were great. I was just wondering about the bags they promised to all the national champs.

SSUSA stated on Sept. 16, on a thread, that the teams that won National Championships would receive, along with a team trophy and chance to buy a ring, a miken bat bag. Well we won but didnot receive the batbag, we got a shirt instead. Just wondering where the bat bag went.

I agree, the fields at Potterville were the pits. I made a mistake and drank some of the water provided, one glass, it was sewer water. Only one shelter to get into the shade, another under construction. The worst complex that we played.

CAPT D5--- I'm happy for that young man becoming a Marine. You say wars end, but I still wake in cold sweats reliving that terrible part of my life. I was a young man at that time too! Thats just the way I feel. I don't want to offend anyone. Sorry if I did.

Gary you got it right. I was drafted, had no choice about going there. And I was your teammate who wore the previous years league hat made in Bangladash instead of the 25th Anniversary cap made in Vietnam. I talked to the league president about this and he told me he made the supplier aware of this fact. The supplier told him he would make sure we would not receive anything made in Vietnam. See you at the library.

Discussion: Sensitivity To Veterans

My team recently participated in the Atlantic Coast Championship. We were fortunate to win our division against a very good team. USSSA gave us shirts for winning our division. Being a Vietnam vet I gave mine back to my manager because it was made in Vietnam. I feel very strongly about anything made there. I know there are other Vietnam vets who play USSSA softball and may feel the way I do. I ask USSSA to take that into consideration when they buy their products. Thank You.
