Discussion: Miken 2 piece knob came off.

My end cap did brake a portion off the outer part. Will they disqualify my bat at Dalton for this? Yes, 3M 5200 glue is great.

You know; now that I think about it I DO play defense the same as I did in my 20's and 30's. BAD! But with these new bats I get to enjoy being able to hit one ever now and then.

I also would enjoy playing this style of ball again. I still have my bats, so I'm ready to go when you guys pull it together. Do they still produce the ole blue dot balls?

I echo your remarks guys. Not only is he a straight up business guy, he and his NEW wife are just good people. I love doing business with honest, Christian people. Between his business, training for triathlons and probable still honeymooning I bet his tank is running a little low right now.

Yep!, Alan put me on the 3M marine glue and it really works. Don't know what it being marine glue has to do with it, but has worked so far on three of our team bats. Anybody experiencing this problem you should try it. Make sure both surfaces are clean though.

Your right! They have the Senior gear and the Twilight Senior for $99. I guess because sale on these two are down and I don't think the Twilight ever took off.

Discussion: Mike Macenko Ultra 2

Hi Mike, as I read the above comments it looks as though things went well with your hip. I'm glad it is behind you and now can start on your recovery. Has it been long enough for the doctor to give you a time line as to when you can start doing what you love doing(whacking a softball)?

Got you now, understand and agree. Probable right on the young folks, love to watch them but haven't paid much attention to their bats. Thanks for post.

The ultra ll has been the standard of performance for quite a while, but they did have durability problems. One of our heavy hitters usually went through at least two a year. In reading blogs and talking to dealers like Alan I think they have addressed those problems with the new TOC(medium end load) and Big Mike's bat(heavy end load), while still retaining top performance. Just my opinion from an average Joe.

Evening Hondaf, are you referring to performance only or overall fell, swing weight, etc.?

Miken Ultra 2 Maxload would get my vote of the three for most pop. Course my Ambush has equal pop and more durable for sure. Alan would be a good place to start.

Miken IS the most popular brand out there. My personal choice is Combat though. Between the performance of their products and the service my supplier gives me does it for me.

Thanks Mark, sounds like I need to try one of these out. Like I need another bat. Maybe my marriage will stand one more bat in the house.

Mark, do you rate this bat better than the Combat Ambush as far as hitting(once broke end) and sweet spot? How about the Reebok Melee?

Fare enough Olie. In no way was I trying to be negative about your comments, just expressing my experience with them also. If everybody's needs where the same there wouldn't be but one bat.

This last comment about the Ambush is reinforcement that different strokes for different folks apply. Don't know way you 50's major plus guys are concerned about distance anyway, you can hit them out with any bat. As for us 65+ guys the Ambush preforms great.

Thanks Alan, good information for all levels of senior players. Sounds like the Ambush like I have is the one for me. Also sounds like you talked yourself out of a sale, at least for now anyway.
