Discussion: Miken White vs. Big Cat

I have both(Big Cat&Dudley Lighting) and prefer the Dudley over these two. Dudley is easier for me(an old guy) to keep up a little bat speed. Just my preference, everyone is different sobs.

We don't have 3 feet of snow, but it was 8 degrees this morning in upper South Carolina and my ole bones can't take it. Looking forward to coming down and getting thawed out, getting some great batting instructions and position tips. Also want to find out if I can hang with you guys on the tall telling(lies)event.

Never want to let a chance to say THANK YOU to you guys and girls who served in Vietnam. Your treatment upon returning is something I'm very ashamed of. So glad finally you are now recognized for your service. Lost my best friend over there. Didn't have to go myself(got classified 4F trying to play ball), but I think of my friend and those of you who served everyday! My GOD bless you for your service.

Discussion: Factors in defining what a good hitter is

The teammate who seems to always get the clutch hit and is always on base is the definition of a great hitter, BUT as you all know it's the home run hitter that gets all the attention and glory.

Not for sure how much finish helps with distance, but Big Mike and I agree that it does produces more knuckle balls, which are harder to make a play on. Course his knuckles further distance than mine though.

Yes, it is a performance enhancement going by Dudley. It's supposed to grip the ball for a mille-second when struck and give the ball more spine, thus more distance in theory. Haven't experienced much noticeable distances increase, but have seen an increase in knuckle balls. And yes you do need to take a damp cloth with you for clean up during games. Once I get home I clean mine up with bartenders friend and when dry tacky feel comes right back. Alan and some of the other bat guiros can explain it in more technical terms, but that's it in a nut shell.

Here in S.C. we didn't have quite the clod temperatures as you, but we had some of the same remedies on how to stay warm. We used an iron off the woodstove to keep our feet warm, then came along electric irons after a while. My grandkids have NO concept of what hard times are.

AHHH!!! Yes, party lines. We where fortunate though by having only three on ours. What a wonderful past time listening to your neighbors conversations. Had to be real careful picking up the receiver though or they would hear you. I'm sure half our readers have no idea what we're talking about.

Discussion: Anyone tried the Combat Dirty two-piece bat?

Our team has been predominately Ambush for the past couple of years and they have gave us good service with great pop. We now are gravitating to the Dudley, they really seem durable.

Been my experience OZ40 that you need to completely remove the end cap so you can clean all surfaces completely. Clean is the key.
