Always been an EL guy, but hope to try a few balanced ones at Alan's spring camp. Looking forward to it.

Here in S.C. we didn't have quite the clod temperatures as you, but we had some of the same remedies on how to stay warm. We used an iron off the woodstove to keep our feet warm, then came along electric irons after a while. My grandkids have NO concept of what hard times are.

AHHH!!! Yes, party lines. We where fortunate though by having only three on ours. What a wonderful past time listening to your neighbors conversations. Had to be real careful picking up the receiver though or they would hear you. I'm sure half our readers have no idea what we're talking about.

Been down the road Dave's family is on currently and I pray for our LORD'S comforting sprit to be with them now. None of our most heart felt words can comfort as it can.

Discussion: Anyone tried the Combat Dirty two-piece bat?

Our team has been predominately Ambush for the past couple of years and they have gave us good service with great pop. We now are gravitating to the Dudley, they really seem durable.

Been my experience OZ40 that you need to completely remove the end cap so you can clean all surfaces completely. Clean is the key.

And I'm looking forward to finally meeting you Big Mike. So glad your health has improved steadily. I know it must have be depressing to you when you couldn't get out an enjoy the sport you have been so blessed at the level you play.
Also can't wait to get some hitting advice from you as I need about five or ten more feet on my fly balls. Talk about warning track power, that's me.
Merry Christmas Mike!

Sounds like it's really coming together to be your inaugural camp. Especially the dinner and the instructors you have been able to get commitments from. Looking forward to it.

Alan, if one attends your camp would they then be able to;(1)hit the ball as far as you do,(2)be able to hit 800+ average,(3)able to field 1000? Just wondering mind you.

Discussion: Does This Make Sense??

softballnuts, if I understand your question is can you make up bat speed by going to a heavier bat? That has not been the result in my case, as a matter of fact it has resulted in just the opposite in losing bat speed. Oh!, I think I understand your thoughts now. You're thinking the extra mass of the bat will compensate for the lower bat speed? If that's your question I really don't know. I'm sure it would make up some of the difference. Maybe some of our bat experts can answer that for us or give us an educated guess.

I'm 67 and my bat speed with a 26oz. is about 73-74 mph. When I try a 29oz. bat it drops some 4 mph. So for me I'm still better of with the lighter bat. Don't know about a couple of years from now.
