Discussion: Drum Roll...the Starting Count decision results.

I apparently was one of the few that never saw an email addressing this topic. But then again I do not check my email daily or do I always check my many junk emails received. Regardless, my vote was not included. Just like most of you, I have played under both 0-0 and 1-1 counts and enjoy the 0-0 better. But to say it speeds up a game and not consider all the other factors would be amiss. I believe we all play under the same "time limit" no matter how many innings played. If you play all 7 innings in that time, should we get more innings as a bonus until time is over?? Also, as we grow older and slower, most do not RUN off the field between innings as we used to. How much game time does that cost per game? Swapping runners, injured players, batters slow to the plate, etc. all reduce playing time that we relish so dearly. Now, my comments do not apply to many of you that still play like you are 30, but for the rest 1-1 has not been "proven" as a game changer. Hopefully, the next time an important subject like this is brought up, it will be better advertised on the website as well as sent by email. I do not check this site daily as some do which is my fault. Good luck in 2018

For our first invitation, Bluegrass Softball had a tremendous time and experience even though our play was not up to our expectations. I spent the entire week taking in all the events as best as possible and felt my money was well spent. A lot of hard work is put into this by MANY people and not enough recognition is given.
I especially want to thank our field Director for the attempt he made to allow us to see the Warrior all star game. We had a player that was supposed to play in the game but because of our game scheduling none of us were able to go. His effort showed his commitment and caring for the sport and players.

I know many teams (and players) wanted to watch the Warriors play and participate, and hope in the future that scheduling can be adjusted for this to happen. This was a very important and special part of the weekend-for veteran players and the Warrior players both. Other than our poor play, this was the only disappointing part of our trip. Good luck to everyone this season

Apparently our team never ran into the same problems the rest of you did (other than rain). If this is on the schedule again for next year, we will go back and hope for better weather and more teams. I am truly glad I don't have to be a director at many of these tournaments. Good luck to you all the rest of the year if you choose to play.

Thank you Tim for the quick results and how well this tournament was handled with weather problems. You and your crew did a great job, umpires were professional and prepared, and hopefully the results will encourage more teams in the future.

Discussion: Batting Average or On Base Percentage

I meant no disrespect to anyone above with my comments about the "W" stat. Most everyone I play against or around have a very heartfelt attitude of contentment about playing-win or lose. I only referenced that game because I don't want those other few to lose sight of the END game. I do keep our stats but not as a tool for determining the way to win but more of a pick-me-up for the ones that struggled. Good luck in the upcoming season. Play safe and BE SAFE!

Wow look at all the "ideas" and "suggestions" for scorekeeping but what it all boils down to is how each team decides to award or not award the stats. None of these are wrong if that is what the team accepts and knows up front. No argument. And unless each team has an AMAZING bookkeeper in the bleachers, we lose track as we get involved with the game. But, I do want to disagree with one statement. Because of something that happened during a game last season, my attitude has changed about the "nothing matters but the Win". Just like the safety concerns at my workplace, I want to leave after each tournament as good as I came. We played against a team and after the game, one of the players had a heart attack and NEVER came back to the field- or got to go home! The team left and did not finish the tournament. I am quite sure "winning" was the LAST thing on their minds. So, I propose that stats are important in their place and winning is our goal, but going home safe and sound to be the final victory!

Discussion: Was it just me Superbowl

The Cam play at the end by not trying to recover his fumble begs to ask if possibly his poor play would have anything to do with throwing a game. It does -and has- happened. I believe the Broncs defense was ready for them and did play well. Congrats to Peyton if he goes out on top.
