Discussion: Umpire Got It Wrong - Loudoun VA

We also had an issue too with the umpire in the Championship game. Hitter swung at the pitch, ball hit the ground in front on him and hit him, dead ball, right? Catcher picked up the ball, tug the hitter and threw to first base where we had and runner there, double play called by both umps. What is the true call, dead ball correct?

Any thoughts on the new Combat Rocket Launcher Senior Bat. Mike Kelly from KUS claims it is flat out the best Senior Bat on the Market.

That is fine, its just the attitude we received on the subject rubbed people the wrong way. For future consideration, why would teams enter events when the forecast is rainy? No one demanded a refund, but a little courtesy on your part might go a long way down the road. Lets face it, people took off from work to be there on Friday and spent money on Hotel rooms Thursday and Friday night! Its not a big deal or will it deter us from playing in any events, it just an opinion and I thought that's what the forums are all about. Let's face it, if no one ever speaks up about anything, how would you address any issues that impact the game!

KBL, it was no big secret that Heavy Rain was forecast all week. Maybe if they didn't have the tournament the same weekend that a Women's tournament was scheduled, they could have played all the games. Poor planning I'm sorry!

I just wanted to throw this out there because this is the second time this has happened. Over the weekend we played in Louden County for the East Coast Championship. The playing games were cancelled Friday and we played 3 games on Saturday, basically straight double elimination. Our team didn't fair well but that is not why I am angered. If we had won the thing, I would still feel the same way. We asked the Tournament director if there would be any kind of refund and he said, he doesn't control the weather! $525 for 3 games and 6 balls is a Joke. It was 5 games guaranteed. The weather forecast called for rain down there all week. We had a tournament rained out in Virginia Beach last October and we received a free entry in April and $300 off this Month in the Penn Classic in Drifton. I have played Seniors now for 6 years and the SSUSA tournaments in PA, Delaware and Maryland never have many teams and I believe its because of the Attitude of the Director and the way things are run. The ISSA tournaments have many teams in the different age groups plus you receive T-shirts for second and third place, and All-Tournament awards. Many of the events on the East coast barely give you a plague! I think the Associations need to get together and be a little bit more fair to the players and teams regarding these issues. Guys are paying money to play and for hotels and meals and so on. We should receive a little more than "I don't control the weather".
