I'm glad so many of you are concerned about safety playing Senior Softball.

So will any of you that posted on this thread please tell me how many players on your teams wear the most basic of protection, a CUP?

Do you guys wear a CUP? Probably Not!

How many of your infielders wear any protective equipment?
A chest protector or a face mask? Probably Not!

Do you?

If not, WHY NOT?

I would guess that less than 50% of you wear any type of protection.

If you want to preach safety why don't you tell your team mates to start wearing protective equipment. And listen to the excuses!

You may not be able change when and where the games are played but you can wear protective equipment and save yourself a trip to the hospital.

Discussion: HAS ANYBODY TRIED THIS?

Just Curious....

I have heard of guys "breaking in" their new bats by various means other than hitting balls.

I was told that hitting the new bat against an old car tire covered with a towel works real well.

Has anybody tried this?

What were the results?

Any thoughts or opinions?

Discussion: EYE BLACK

I was just watching the Yankees/Rays game on TV. I noticed Travis Hafner wearing eye black under his eyes. I have been told that the purpose of wearing eye black is to reduce glare. Has anybody out there ever used eye back? Does it help? What can you tell us about your experience wearing it. Thanks for any info you may have.

2 guys on this board have reported being at "The Factory" months and even more than a year ago. What were the employees doing when they made their visits to the "Factory"?

And they still haven't made 2000 bats?

How long does it take to make these bats?

Sure, R&D takes some time but these guys claim they were at the factory where the bats were being made.

Discussion: Miken 2 pc End Load vs Reebok End Load

I was told the Miken 2 piece is every bit as good as the Miken Red bat which is very comparable in performance to the end loaded Reebok. Plus it's supposed to have better durability than either the Miken Red or Reebok.

Discussion: The Stutter Step

"Walking The Box" is a term I don't think I ever heard before. It seems to be very popular with guys from Chicago and New York.
Also guys I have seen using the "walk the box" style of hitting use it for every pitch, not just only for the third strike.

Does your bat have the Senior stamp?

So are you trying to tell us that your story is "normal" for a senior bat?

Senior Softball Fact:

You can NOT have BOTH High Performance and Great Durability in any senior softball bat.

That would be like having a Indy race car for your everyday family use.

the wood

Thanks for the info.

I have the original gray combat and it has the 1.21 bpf also the senior stamp on it.

So if it swings like the gray and has the same stamps, what makes the Combat Dirty (latest and greatest) any better?

I believe the "Latest and Greatest" bats from all the companies are nothing more than gimmicks to make buyers think they are getting something special when all they are getting is the same old thing repackaged.

This is what "swing for the fences" stated at the top of this thread.
