By reading your responses on this thread I can only come to one conclusion. That conclusion is that since you can't tell the difference between first and second batch bats, you can't be 100% sure those are second batch bats in your inventory.

Thanks for finding a website that sells them.

My mask is also attached with velcro, but it does not stay in place. If I take the mask off to set it down the chin pad falls off. I think there must be a way for the pad to be kept in place. I know of a few guys that lost the chin pad because it didn't stay attached.

Is there a way to keep the chin pad attached to the Rip-it mask?

Discussion: ~~~TIMING~~~

I've talked to several good hitters that are "Steppers".

From what I understand the "Steppers" started "stepping" when they got into playing softball.

I learned that the "stepping" is not going to give the hitter any significant amount of higher bat speed.

They start their "stepping" as soon as the ball leaves the pitchers hand, figuring that by the time they take a few steps forward the ball will be arriving in their hitting zone. It is a way of timing their swing to the ball.

As one told me "It gives me something to do while I'm waiting for the ball".

For these guys it seems to work well. I've tried it but I guess it's just too much moving around and changing angles for my liking.

Has the Blackout reached the performance of a broken in Miken Ultra 2 piece end load yet?

So now that you got some swings on that new bat, how does it compare to the white Miken Ultra 2 piece end load?

Discussion: Miken 2 pc End Load vs Reebok End Load

Hi
I'm interested in buying one of these bats. But haven't decided which at this time.

I am looking at the Miken 2 piece end load or the Reebok end load.

Please give any information you may have to help me decide.

Thanks

Discussion: The Stutter Step

I have tried hitting a ball off a tee using the "stutter step" style. Since I'm not a "stepper" I was trying to see what advantages, if any, in obtaining higher bat speed. While I admit this is not very scientific, there were some differences that I noticed. First, I noticed that using the "step", hitting the ball consistently was not very good due to the fact I'm not used to making so much movement. I noticed that my eye to ball angle changes a lot as I moved toward the ball. With that much angle change I can understand getting used to it requires lots of practice to be able to make solid contact more often than not. Also I did notice some gain in average distance on the balls that were hit well, but not so much as to change my current hitting style.

Maybe somebody that is used to "stepping" could try hitting off a tee using both styles and give some conclusions.
