I agree legends... I have umpired seniors here in Florida as well as several National Tournaments and wouldnt mind seeing the mat widened some. Could make it more interesting for the pitcher as well as make the batters swing more. Cut down on the walks and make it back to a hitters game. Good point.

Stig ...You are correct the flip-flop rule is meant for only when the run rule limit is exceeded. The inning the run rule is in effect and the home team is losing, the home team will remain at bat and become the visiting team. If they do not score enogh runs to reduce the run rule the game is over. If they do score enough then the new Home team will bat.

I don't Like the idea. I have umpired senior softball and feel like its just another gimmick. Takes away from the game. Very hard to field a pitch that hits mats edge. More pressure on catcher. I don't think I would like it. Just my opinion
