| April 7, 2017 Pitcher22 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: win loss records next to our ratings Sorry Dave I feel again SSUSA I has dropped the ball on the ratings issue ! I can only speak for the team I play on and no others but it is very apparent that you read the message board so I would love to hear from you on this..... My first year playing SSUSA I played for a 50 Major team we had an exceptional year and got on a roll at the right time and won the World Masters in Vegas so we were bumped to Major Plus the next year. We p,aged as many tournaments as we could traveling to Florida , Georgia and playing in the Senior Smokey tournament after coming out of the Smokey our record was 1-14 and getting are butts handed to us every time we stepped on the field . The coach at the time wouldn't apply for reclassification because in his words that would be a disgrace..... so we continue on our Journey to Vegas in Vegas we won 2 games and tried to get reclassified and was turned down said our run diffencial was not bad enough ..... I didn't quite understand that because the 2 games we won were close and our losses were bad .. now we go to last year again starting in Major Plus not playing the unrealistic schedule from he previous year but playing a Midwest schedule we were spotting teams runs and still getting beat out right so in June we applied for reclassify and was granted to move down to Major We played the rest of the year at Major winning 1 of the 4 tournaments we played in so we go to Vegas and finish 4th ...now I know what your thinking we finished high and was bumped back to Major Plus for this year we appealed in November and was denied because of our 4th place finish....... our Vegas stats 8-2 we won 5 ..1 run games 4 of which we were home team we scored 178 runs and gave up 175 ...... so tell me does this sound like a Major Plus team to you ......... The cost of the tournaments entry fee with all the tournaments the SSUSA holds over the course of the year should more than cover cover the costs of new mats if they were to choose to change them ....... just a side note from my experiences so far with SSUSA they are set in there ways and really don't want to make any changes that could possibly speed up the game or make it any better for the teams and people who play this game that we Love..... |

Also no rain on Saturday or Sunday ....... Why could we not play 7 inning games on Sunday ??? I see you answered most of my questions but failed to answer the why were there 3 directors there and just what were they there for other than to post scores...... They are not allowed to make decisions for the better of the tournament for fear of getting there hands slap by BIG BROTHER....... |

I totally understand that Mother Nature showed her ugly head and rained out the games Friday .... So we start the pool play and it's 5 inning games that's great and fine ... Then the bracket play starts and it's still 5 inning game ( WTH ) why could we not play 7 innings and go to a 1-1 count ..... It was suggested by more people than just our team there were 3 directors there who told us that the decision was made in Sacramento ???? If that's the case WHY are there 3 directors on site and just what decisions are they allowed to make other than post scores...... Please help me understand the decision that was made |

When someone brings up something that would help the game we love such as the 1-1 count .... Ratings and Home Run rules they are quick to jump on here and defend there 6 year survey instead of adjusting to the players who are playing the game NOW...... There are 2 Major+ teams......that should be a bard burner of a tournament and 4 Major teams again a great tournament........ This is a tournament that a lot of teams qualified for and only 2 Major+ teams and 4 Major teams are attending........... Great job SSUSA wonder how many teams would be there if it was a 2015 roster event.........I understand the 6 year contract they have but a simple change of the roster requirements from 2014 to a 2015 might help attendance.......... Just a thought ..... I am probably way off base with that but you never know till you try it |

| Jan. 4, 2015 Pitcher22 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: The TOC Well due to the rules that SSUSA has put in place we will not be able to field our team to play in this tournament that we worked so hard to qualify for ..... I wish all the teams that will be able to play in it Good Luck . I personally think SSUSA needs to really sit down and take a long look at this tournament and make a few changes to it but from some of my previous attempts at discussing some things about Senior Softball that could be good for the game but the survey from 2 years ago wont change anything. I hope the 4 Teams that play Major and the 3 that play Major + have a great time playing each other in what should be one of the best Good Luck to all who play and Stay Safe |

The reason we are shorthanded has to due with injury we concurred at the world tournament and work schedules I know it's hard to believe but some employers don't share the same love we have for the game and won't let guys off work ( sucks I know) but it is what it is.... I really wasn't trying to get in a pissing contest here was really just curious as to why the guys couldn't be added I got my answer and that's good . I can always count on the SSUSA staff to give me the direction to look in the rule book and I thank them for that ........ I hope we are able to go to the TOC because it's not a tournament you just go to you have to earn your way there....... I know it's a special tourney and hope to be a part of it ..... Again thanks for all the replies |

We will be short handed for the TOC I don't se why it would be an issue to add 3 players to our roster as they will be playing with us in 2015 . The 3 I speak of have never played an inning of senior softball so they are totally new to the SSUSA program ...... Why is this an issue with SSUSA for us to add these players to our roster for the TOC as they will be fostered players for 2015.. as always thank you for your input |
