Dec. 19, 2016 Fred S | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: player fees A lot would depend on how your league and teams are organized. In the league I play in we use a per player fee ranging form $140-190 depending what division you play in. The league organizes the teams with the goal of have balanced teams in each division. If teams form their own team then per team makes more sense. |
Nov. 29, 2016 Fred S | Topic: Product review Discussion: Trump Rock The price for the MCT at $60.00 is retail. In quantity they would be a lot closer to the $39.00. |
Nov. 18, 2016 Fred S | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: RULEING ON PLAY According to rule 13.8(3) B.J. is right if he was tagged after his foot hit the ground. I am still not clear if he tagged him before or after his foot hit the ground over the line. |
Nov. 18, 2016 Fred S | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: RULEING ON PLAY First question would be at what point did he tag him. Before he step over or after. |
Nov. 15, 2016 Fred S | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Looking to form new league Might be interested depending on age group and location. |
Nov. 11, 2016 Fred S | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: EH & DH ?????? Paul0784:No. Rule only states that I can't be in the lineup and I can only substitute for the same player in the same spot in the batting order. |
Nov. 10, 2016 Fred S | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: EH & DH ?????? I believe you can get around it by using pinch hitting for him twice then he is out of the game. We used that method on a team I played on that had a weak hitting pitcher. First time up with men on I would pinch hit for him. 2nd time I would pinch hit and stay in to finish the game pitching. |
Nov. 10, 2016 Fred S | Topic: Product review Discussion: Trump ASA 52/300 softball We have been using them in our league for the last 4 or 5 years and are very happy with them. The only fault we find with them is they lose some performance when we use the used games balls in our pickup games. I use a 30 oz Freak52(Lime one) and I am very happy with the performance with the Tattoo's. |
Sept. 13, 2016 Fred S | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: 3N2 Shoes I have used 3N2 products for years but I have found that their quality has deteriorated over the last few years. |
Aug. 29, 2016 Fred S | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Broken hand and wrist For what is worth a few years ago I broke my left hand. When the cast came off the Dr also told me no softball for a few weeks but he knew I wouldn't listen to him so he gave me a wrap around brace for my hand and wrist to wear while playing. IMO it basically comes down to how you feel. |
Aug. 28, 2016 Fred S | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: 2016 Ocean State Softball Classic When are we going to get results of the 2016 Ocean State Softball Classic? |
July 26, 2016 Fred S | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: to SSUSA We have one 80 National Tournament team from the Cape but they have their own feeder system through the National tournament teams in the other age divisions and you have to join their league which is a 4 hr ride round trip. Oh well!! |
July 26, 2016 Fred S | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: to SSUSA All things being equal you may be right. I am from the N.E. and there are very few 80 teams in my area. Most teams are from Fl and Mid-West and West Coast and most of the times there rosters are pretty well set. I played for a 75 team out of Va but for various reasons they dropped down to the 70 Div which meant I couldn't play with then anymore because of territorial restrictions. |
July 25, 2016 Fred S | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: to SSUSA I would also like to see 80+ players be allowed to play on any age group team regardless of territory restrictons |
July 20, 2016 Fred S | Topic: Bats Discussion: How Many Knob Cuffs?? Good question. It doesn't really say. For ASA it only says that it must be taped. |
June 27, 2016 Fred S | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: 1-1-----0-0 count I like that better than 1-1. It still gives 2 pitches to fool around with before having to throw a strike. |
June 14, 2016 Fred S | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: My son Tim Will say a special pray this Sunday. Having 6 of my own I can't even imagine what you are feeling right now. Stay strong and god bless you and your family here and in heaven. |
June 13, 2016 Fred S | Topic: Players looking to join a team Discussion: looking for ateam to mjoin You can try the EMASS Senior League they may have some openings. http://www.emass-seniorsoftball.com/ |
June 5, 2016 Fred S | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Arrogance can hurt a pitcher curveball: We have that stupid rule in our league also. Up to this year you had to get behind the when the ball was hit. The reason they give for having the screen there is to cover them in case of law suit. We provided the screen but pitcher chose not to use it. |
May 28, 2016 Fred S | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: which do your prefer on a 5 game guarantee? Agree with neck10. 3 games allows you to play your subs more that probably won't play in the double elimination rounds. |
