Discussion: player fees

A lot would depend on how your league and teams are organized. In the league I play in we use a per player fee ranging form $140-190 depending what division you play in. The league organizes the teams with the goal of have balanced teams in each division.

If teams form their own team then per team makes more sense.

The price for the MCT at $60.00 is retail. In quantity they would be a lot closer to the $39.00.

According to rule 13.8(3) B.J. is right if he was tagged after his foot hit the ground. I am still not clear if he tagged him before or after his foot hit the ground over the line.

First question would be at what point did he tag him. Before he step over or after.

Paul0784:No. Rule only states that I can't be in the lineup and I can only substitute for the same player in the same spot in the batting order.

I believe you can get around it by using pinch hitting for him twice then he is out of the game. We used that method on a team I played on that had a weak hitting pitcher. First time up with men on I would pinch hit for him. 2nd time I would pinch hit and stay in to finish the game pitching.

Discussion: Trump ASA 52/300 softball

We have been using them in our league for the last 4 or 5 years and are very happy with them. The only fault we find with them is they lose some performance when we use the used games balls in our pickup games. I use a 30 oz Freak52(Lime one) and I am very happy with the performance with the Tattoo's.

I have used 3N2 products for years but I have found that their quality has deteriorated over the last few years.

Discussion: Broken hand and wrist

For what is worth a few years ago I broke my left hand. When the cast came off the Dr also told me no softball for a few weeks but he knew I wouldn't listen to him so he gave me a wrap around brace for my hand and wrist to wear while playing. IMO it basically comes down to how you feel.

We have one 80 National Tournament team from the Cape but they have their own feeder system through the National tournament teams in the other age divisions and you have to join their league which is a 4 hr ride round trip. Oh well!!

All things being equal you may be right. I am from the N.E. and there are very few 80 teams in my area. Most teams are from Fl and Mid-West and West Coast and most of the times there rosters are pretty well set. I played for a 75 team out of Va but for various reasons they dropped down to the 70 Div which meant I couldn't play with then anymore because of territorial restrictions.

I would also like to see 80+ players be allowed to play on any age group team regardless of territory restrictons

Good question. It doesn't really say. For ASA it only says that it must be taped.

I like that better than 1-1. It still gives 2 pitches to fool around with before having to throw a strike.

Discussion: Arrogance can hurt a pitcher

curveball: We have that stupid rule in our league also. Up to this year you had to get behind the when the ball was hit. The reason they give for having the screen there is to cover them in case of law suit. We provided the screen but pitcher chose not to use it.

Agree with neck10. 3 games allows you to play your subs more that probably won't play in the double elimination rounds.
