Discussion: Prayers requested for Murl Skalla

Had my differences with Murl over the years, but he has always been a tough competitor and and a guy who has given a great deal of his life to softball. He has always fielded teams that consistantly performed at a high level.

I wish him a complete and speedy recovery and the best of health in the future. Senior Softball needs his continued involvement.

You are in our prayers.

Discussion: No A like an Old A

Wish you a speedy and complete recovery AC, even if you're an Old A. Guess the rivilvary between the Kidz and the Old A's is over. Good Luck in 08.

Discussion: Hip Replacements

I am looking at double hip replacements due to severe arthritis in both. I am interested in hearing from any one out there that could give me encouragement that I will be able to play again without worrying about my "new" hips.

Any "positive" input would be welcomed. Thanks.

Discussion: fair or unfair?

I've trying really hard to ignore this subject because I know that all the meaningful and unmeaningful dialouge in the world is not going to change the result: it is not going to help Pat play in Vegas or Phoenix. I certainly can understand all the hard feelings on both sides, but it is what it is and everyone needs to let it go.

. The Old A's with their Hall Of Fame roster will continue to play for championsips in Vegas and Phoenix and will contend for the championships in both, even without Pat.
Mr Tobin will be playing with the Old A's (and from what I heard two of the best players from the Farm) by November and all this will be a distant (albeit a bitter) memory. And the Kidz wil struggle again to put together a 60 Major Plus team of 14 players who will live up to their committment.

You guys will never understand how difficult it is to field a major plus team in Vegas. Using Southern Califonia, Arizona and Vegas we've played hell fielding 12 -14 players for literally every tounament this year. You may have noticed what a "reduced" schedule we played this year; that wasn't by choice we simply couldn't find the bodies.

One last thing, maybe Pat isn't a "impact" player with the Old A's but he certainly was for us! He's a five tool player with exceptional speed for our age group. We needed him. Losing him hurt our team immensely. I wish things would have worked out differently, buy they didn't.

Don't need to bash each other anymore, it will soon be over.

Yo Bammer, glad to hear you're recovering nicely. Scares the hell out of me to know someone in the kind of shape you are in could have this problem!

We'll all be glad to see you back on the diamond as soon as you can be. In the meantime know that a lot of prayers and "get well" wishes have been and will continue to be said on your behalf!

Discussion: OUR TEAM BROKE UP!!!!!!

Someone pick this guy up! He's an awesome hitter for both power and average (DO NOT PITCH TO HIM IN BP IF YOU VALUE YOUR LIFE)! A fearless pitcher who doesn't care if you "hit the middle". He's a former slow pitch "Pro" player who lives and breathes the game. If you're one player short of having a possible championship team Ron is one of those guys that can make that difference. Besides as a current member of the "Kidz4ever" team I'd like him to be playing to stay in shape and be ready for us in the fall.

Say hi to your lovely wife and I hope to see you in the upcoming tournaments playing for someone.

Discussion: VITO "BILLY" TUFANO..... LIFE ENDED LAST NIGHT..

Billy's death came as a great shock to all who knew him in Las Vegas. He was a fierce competitor and a very good player. Once again (unfortunately) the Kidz4ever team offers it's heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. It's an incedible shame he's gone.

Discussion: Who is your 'best hitter'

I've played slow pitch for 40 years and have never played with or against a better hitter than Hank Cluess (kidz4ever - 60 major plus). He is the best combination of power and average I've ever seen. He can get base hits line to line and hits as many home runs and hits them as far as anyone in Senior ball. He uses a U2 in games, but doesn't need to, in BP with USSSA bats he regularly hits 30-40% of the balls out of the park.

Respect: I've seen him walked with the bases full numerous times and in our last tournament he was intentionally walked in the bottom of the 7th with 2 outs and nobody on and we losing by 5 runs!

Most impressive, however, is his consistancy. He has been doing this for decades and is still doing it with no slow down in sight.

Not sure on that, but If it's legal in USSSA it's legal in Senior Associations.

Both bats you mentioned are "legal" in all Senior Associations, except ASA. Fact is however, the Ultra II and Senior Combat are the bats of choice in SSUSA, LVSSA, SPA and I think ISA. Although the Easton Stealth CNT Plus is an excellent bat it cannot perform like the ULTRA II or Senior Combat.

Discussion: Major-Plus Impact Player List

The list is at best "seriously flawed" and at worst a "joke". It obviously was not well thought out. It needs to be rescinded and totally re-worked, if done at all.

No, I do not belong and I'm sure you all agree, but I do know many who should be on that list who aren't ( Hank Cluess comes to mind) and many who are on it that shouldn't be.

Looking for a 55 or 60 Major Plus/Major or AAA team playing in the LVSSA tournament in late April that could use a HOF Catcher/AH that hits for average and power. If interested e-mail me at pro.gary@lv.sysco.com. Thanks.
