Discussion: bat rolling

Blah blah blah blah blah!!! 1. Why the heck would anyone want to or need to have their Senior bats rolled or shaved?? 2. how about this for a solution, Have the associations provide 5 marked game bats per team at the start of the tournaments, umpires check them as you come up to bat (teams have to give them back at the end of the tournaments)!! We won't have to spend Hundreds of dollars on bats anymore and everybody is on the same playing level!! I crack myself up sometimes!!

p.s. So, i bought some new tuff shoes for the upcoming season, they were pretty stiff so I had my son put them on and run around the field and up some hills to break them in!! That's not considered cheating is it??

So, update on those nice NX3 balls! Mr Sumpter and I hit this morning /afternoon (11am-1pm), nice chilly day with a breeze coming in from centerfield, North Augusta baseball field, 322ft down the lines, 378ft dead center! Dave and I always hit 12-15 feet behind home plate as we don't want to dig up the batter's box! Anyhow, I have to say, these balls FLY!! Sounds good off the bat and feel good in the hand when pitching!! Very very impressed with them! Anyone who has not hit them, try them out. I think you will be as impressed as I! Dave was hitting them between 320-360 foot shots into the wind and his 5-6 hole shots were getting through like missles! Very impressive day for him! The point being, Awesome product you have here, Tattoo!!

Tom, I will have to get your number from Tattoo! I know I have a Facebook account but have never used it! I don't know how and I don't remember my password...sooooo! What days will you be in Augusta or will you only be here on the 6th?

Bruce, how have you been? Hope Thanksgiving was good to you!!
Myrtle Beach...well, we (Combat/Next Level) had to play in the 50 M+ division, lost to Mid-Atlantic (a great team) but, we did win our division! lol!! Tough to loose when you're the only team in your division (55 M+). I ended up MVP so that ended the season for me on the plus side of things! I am already jonesing to play !! Have a Merry Christmas! Hope to see you next year!!

Tattooball,
Sorry i didn't get back with you about hitting with Mr. Marandi! this is the first time i've been back on the msg board! As for hitting, I am always up for taking swings, always!! Don't know if the opportunity to hit with Tom is still an option, if it is, would love to! If not, any other time he down this way let me know and maybe we can workout a time and place it hit!

PS. I no longer play with Adiktiv Sports, and for whatever reason they don't allow you to change your nickname on this msg board, so I guess I will always be "A dik"

Tattoo, glad i could help get the word out on the NX3! It is worth looking to get and use (if only for a BP ball).
I have read a few threads about using this ball or that ball during Vegas or in summer weather! IMHO, this would be a great universal ball for all Senior organizations! Hope to see it in play one day! Good job!!

Hey tattooball, Hitman, thanks for the input! Anyone else?
Tattooball, are you going to try to get all senior softball associations to try out the NX3?

Was wondering if anyone has hit the ADStarr NX3 ball yet?
I hit it today, nice cool weather (about 70% outside). Balls were new out of the box!
Made a nice "crack" off the bat, went a long ways, has a nice rough feel to them so you can get a good grip on the ball when throwing it!
Just looking for opinions on it and is this going to be the ball of the future?

Discussion: Tee-shirts or other prizes?

With all the "millions" of t-shirts I've received through my years of softball I've just had them made into quilts for my kids, grand kids and others. They seemed to enjoy them or they hate'em and lie to me about. Either way, the shirts are out of my house to make room for more (if i am lucky enough to win any more)!!

Thanks for all the response to this rant !!

Guys, so, thanks for all the insite....I suppose I was just venting!!
Being just a player and not on the business side of things it's easy for me to overlook all that goes into putting on a tourney!

What about giving back the entry fee to the winning team? Or letting them play in the next tournament without payment?

My problem is .... I love tee-shirts!!

Discussion: Tee-shirts or other prizes?

Played in a SPA tourney this past weekend....they gave out crappy bags and coffee travel mugs as prizes....I asked the TD if we got T-shirts....he got pissed at me for asking!! W T $ !!

My question is : would players rather get t-shirts or crappy bags for winning or placing in a tournament that costs $400 + bucks to play in?

What say you???

Thank you, Rock....hated to see you go through that! Dave Sumpter #18 with his quick action, training and knowledge was able to put it to good use! I, for one, am happy he was there and honored to have him as a team mate! Take care, but get back on the field as soon as you can! Oh, and remember, Rock...."it's always a good time for a solo"
wink, wink!!!

Discussion: Ultra II TOC bat

This bat is legit and worth the money spent....(so far)

Took swings with mine yesterday...320ft fence at Diamond Lakes (Augusta, GA)

Nice morning, slight breeze....less than 75 swings on the 28oz bat, measured off one shot at 407ft!

then put a couple more into the trees! Not bad for a small guy like me( 5'8" 200lbs)

Not bragging on me, fellas....bragging on this bat!! If you like a heavy end load, this is the bat to swing....hands down!!

If you have not taken any swings with it, ask one of your friends who has one to let you!!

Just my opinion, tho!

Say What???? lol

The glove just looks bigger because of my small Burger King hands!!

Is this one of those crazy SSUSA rules? If so, it does not matter as we won't play SSUSA tourneys, but if we did, I now know I would have to use my smaller glove and run a little faster to get to the balls!!

One question, tho, in SSUSA is it legal to wear 9 1/2 size shoes or do they have a rule against that, too??

hummm, I was under the impression that the end load bats created more bat speed through the ball......but, what do I know!!

Discussion: Miken TOC Ultra II Max

swung the TOC Miken (red, white, blue) 28oz Max load yesterday....BEST Miken bat to date, bar none!!

Whether it's a re-painted Red Miken or not I do not know, but it's a sweet bat!
Hitting partner took right at 30 swings with it (out of the wrapper), his bat...he wanted me to swing it so he could see from the fielder's point of view how the ball reacted off the bat. I took 2 swings....both balls went 350ft plus!!

Anyone else swing this bat and your thoughts....by the way....I ordered my one today!!
