Took swings this weekend(baseball field 354ft in the power alley). One of my hitting partners, (won't tell you his name but he goes by Dave Sumpter) brings out his brand new, zero swings on it....., 27oz Barrage (2nd run)! Right from the start he's killing it, hits about 5 right at the fence! BIG Smile on his face, lovin the bat.....right at 20 swings, (17 swings I think) he hits a nice shot but the bat sounds different.....why? Because that worthless (in my opinion) is now CRACKED! $200.00 bat for 20 swings = 10 bucks a swing....not worth it to me!!

No webbing, just a couple of nice cracks....maybe he got sent a bad one...it happens!

But, buyers be aware!!

Then again, I was swinging a 28oz Barrage and it held up just fine....But, DAVE is a BEAST!

Tell him it's not the bat in the hand, it's the hands around the bat that matters.....

That being said, USSSA Mizuno Blackout is my choice.

Modi,

That's the best idea I've heard yet.....Major + = 7 runs per inning, 3 homeruns per inning (DBO after)....except, maybe bump it to 5 homeruns in the open inning!

Major = 5 runs per inning, 2 homeruns per inning (DBO after)... except last inning, 3, or maybe 4 homeruns!

Love the Twilight....lots of fellas gave up on it because it feels like a log right out of the wrapper...break it in and it's a BEAST! Have a 28oz, has a crack on it and it's still killing the ball.....

The MM Blue just does not hold up!

Your better choice is the Twilight in MHO !

Discussion: All the hate on DBO with senior bats...how about this?

Mr Tim,

Agreed, if TriMasters / MTC55 play in the same tourney and get the chance to play against each other, we swing aluminum bats!

Same goes for Adictiv Sports / MTC50.....we play, we swing aluminum bats....

I like swinging the DiMarini double wall bats, is that ok? Or would you prefer I swing another bat? Or maybe you bring the bat and that's the bat we swing....

As for the Viagra, since I'm not going to "blank" you, I'm not going to need it.

GArocket, Like I said before, if TriMasters plays against your team (what team do you play for?) please Introduce yourself. I always like meeting new and interesting people! I'll introduce you to my Viagra, her name's Cindy, my younger wife!

p.s. Make sure you bring the composite bat you swing !

Tim M, I don't mind being in the back of this loooong line you are telling me about.....sad, tho, that you wouldn't pick up on maybe you need to make a change somewhere! Can't help you with your request...if you don't get what I was talking about, it won't matter how small of words I use or how much I articulate, you still won't get it!

Mr Tim Millette, I say this with the utmost respect.....You are a Freakin Idiot ! I don't believe you've ever seen me play defense, don't believe you've ever seen me hit the ball down when needed, don't believe you've ever seen me run for myself and some of my older teammates every game of every tournament! Never taking a break, playing every minute of every game! And the same goes for my friend Turbo....he's a great guy, a great player....so,just shut your pie-hole, you know not of what you speak!!

GaRocket, I also play for Triangle Masters 55/over....if we ever have the pleasure of playing whatever team you sit the bench for, please come over and introduce yourself...I can always use the free Viagra! As for my younger wife...I don't need to tell her how many HomeRun I hit....she comes to every one of my tournaments and gives me a loving Kiss everytime I hit'em.....Oh, and I get A LOT of kisses from her!!

Why would anyone want to shave a Senior bat? If you can't hit the ball with a Senior bat right out of the wrapper, you can't hit the ball, period.

I agree with the Life Time Ban!! And you should have to have a picture of you posted on the website so we know who to laugh at for having to have a shaved Senior bat!

Discussion: Teams leaving SSUSA?

Perl,

Thanks for vote of confidence....I would like very much to play SSUSA.

Looking forward to running a 3 man outfield this year, as I know Em and I love running the ball down.

And not to leave anyone out....think of Rolo hitting the ball down , ouch, Chief hitting his line shots as he walks in the box, and Emery, who puts the ball where ever he likes, Mikie hitting the 5-6 hole, and Dave coming in to give us that clutch hit when we need one!

Not to mention the new kid on the block......heard he loves playing a 3-man OF and kills the ball.....should be a pretty good year no matter where we play!

Looking forward to it, however it works out!

PattyMac, not once did I say we were not playing SSUSA because we got bumped to M+ ! As you can read, I stated because of the rule changes (HR/Facemask) we, Adiktiv Sports, choose not to compete in SSUSA tournaments this year!

And if SPA, also, change their rules to DBOs, are we going to do the same, based on principal, choose not to play SPA? But, maybe this isn't the forum to discuss that!

To my original point, so far it looks like we are the only team making such a stand...but, it has to start somewhere!

Discussion: Teams leaving SSUSA?

Perl,

It is true that our team is going to be limited on where to play this year, just have to see what is offered ! I think U-TRIP is opening a Senior division this coming season! Maybe an option for us, maybe not! How ever it works out, we will playing somewhere, I'm sure!

Tim, we were also bumped to M+ in SPA and are still going to play there...so, I am assuming it has more than just getting bumped up....our team knew we were going to get bumped and was, is looking forward to playing in the M+ division!

as for travel, I guess I just live in a region where it dictates I have to drive some miles to play.....

But, again, to ask the original question...are other teams opting out on SSUSA tournaments ?

Discussion: Teams leaving SSUSA?

On a serious note.....just wondering what effect these rule changes (HR / Facemask) are going to have on teams playing in SSUSA tournaments in the upcoming season?

Has any teams made the decision to opt out playing SSUSA ? And, if so, if your team has, will you name your team?

Maybe this will let SSUSA see how this decision MAY hurt their standings towards teams that played in their tournaments last year!

I can see if, like, 5 teams choose to drop out and play elsewhere it not hurting SSUSA, but if a lot of teams choose to leave, that may open
their eyes!

I, for one, love playing the SSUSA circuit and look forward to Vegas every year....but, alas, my team has chose not to play SSUSA and since I don't pay the bills I can only follow!

Again, just wondering

Getting rid of Senior bats....hummmm, let's see.....

Let's say there are 2000 senior players in each state...there are 50 states Happy Kitty....just in case you didn't know that!

50 x 2000 = 100,000 Senior players

Let's say each of those players owns 2 senior bats (except Happy Kitty and Dbag, as they don't swing the bat hard enough to break any) and each bat costs, say, $150 bucks!

That would be $300 bucks spent by each Senior player (Dbag and Happy Kitty = $300 together)

So.... $300 x 100,000 Senior players = $30,000,000 ($30 MILLION a yr going to the bat companies just for Senior bats!)

I, for one, do not see Senior bats going away or any bat company "getting rid" of a money maker such as Senior bats!! JMHO
