This guy is a great hitter, average and power. Would be a good addition to any team. Good teammate as well.

Brett, are you guys looking for any new players for next year? I took this year off to heal up, but looking to get back into the game next year. I'm a couple states over from you in Mississippi.

Probably should add a little substance to this. I played with Montgomery Swarm for several years. Have been playing in the infield, 1B or 2B, but can run in the outfield as well. Hit with some power and good average. 61 years old.

Good luck being able to play Friday. the forecast I just saw was worse Friday than Saturday. of course that could change 3 times before the weekend. so it surprises me that you cancelled so early.

Brett, are you guys coming to Montgomery in a few weeks? I see you're in for Birmingham next weekend, weather permitting.

Thanks for doing this every year, always nice to get the season kicked off. Games actually were ahead of schedule all day, so playing the full 7 innings shouldn't be an issue from a time stand point. We had a good time and look forward to Montgomery in a couple weeks. Thanks again for giving us a place to start the season.

This runner leaving 2nd then becomes a force out. No runs should score.

Discussion: Playing with a 5 man infield...

To run a 5 man, you better have 3 outfielders that can cover some ground. If not, a good team will run them ragged. I see the young guys running a 5 man, plenty of wheels in the outfield. Would seem to me to be more difficult in the Senior division. Maybe the opportunities to turn double plays offsets the amount of ground each outfielder has to cover.

Discussion: Umpires- Pitching Rules

I noticed that as well in Valley last weekend. Anything around 10 feet was an illegal pitch. Saw some pitches called that didn't get over my head, wish it was because I was 6'5", but sadly that isn't the case. But what Paco mentions about pitchers throwing somewhere between the rubber and second base (closer to 2nd base) is the bigger problem to me. I don't pitch and if I did I would want to be as far away as possible, but this is a problem that needs to be corrected.

So are you saying that when a 60M plays a 55AAA, the 55AAA gets 3 and out and the Major gets 6 and out in the same game? That doesn't sound like a plan I would sign up for if I was the AAA team. Is this really how SSUSA does it?

Discussion: and ideas concerning "where to place teams in tournaments"

Hey Perl, great seeing you last weekend in Valley. Same situation coming up next in Pensacola. You guys have 2 60M teams, we have 2 55M teams entered. I don't know what you guys are going to do, but my understanding is that they are throwing us, Doc C's (the only 50M team entered) and the 55AAA teams in one bracket and playing straight up 50M rules. Not sure if everyone will agree to that, but seems to be the best short term answer for that tournament.

That's a great number Bruce. Sounds like it should be a great tournament. Look forward to seeing you guys there.
