The umpire made you swap balls in the middle of an inning for no other reason than they wanted to? It is BS! What good can come of that?

Discussion: Female pursuing action to join all male league

I don't like it, there are men's/women's/coed leagues. A man can't play in the women's league so it should work both ways. Otherwise why even designate gender titles to leagues in the first place. I would suggest they go play in a coed league together.

Discussion: New ball ?

Question: If I'm pitching and the hitter asks for time and they throw a new ball to the ump with the intent to put it in the game, do I have to accept it? The idea of the team on offense subbing in a ball when one is already in play opens the door for funny business IMHO.

We spoke after Vegas 2015? I don't recall that(doesn't mean we didn't lol)In all fairness Mike, the fact that I sponsor and pitch has nothing to do with anything. Perhaps you should talk to Doug. I sponsor but do not interfere with him, it's his team and roster decisions are his to make. We strive to carry 3 pitchers minimum at all times so when you say "their sponsor played my position. you know how that goes" I have to wonder what you mean. I like you Mike, I'm sorry you feel that way.
Again, call Doug. We may have an opening or 2 this season but Doug doesn't post here and I don't think he reads it either. Good luck this year and I hope to see you out on the field!

Discussion: A True Equalizer

Benji, even though I'm only a lowly AAA player I tend to agree with you. I don't want no stinking handicap that way after we get done kicking your ass you can't use the excuse that we had a handicap.

Seriously, I'd play either way but if you're going to have a handicap system then it has to be one that gives the lower rated team a fair chance to win. That's what a handicap is. That being said I'd be all for no handicaps but you would have to separate classes after pool play otherwise why have skill levels at all?

Discussion: bat break in

On their site it reads:

"Unlike the rolling of a baseball bat which is literally just crushing the fibers and doing long term damage to the bat, our process will not damage the bat nor will it void the manufactures warranty nor would it make the bat illegal in any leagues or tournaments."

This is the part that makes me think it's illegal:

"Due to Proprietary information concerns, we are only going to say that heat and a stretching of the carbon fiber's all the way up and down and around the barrel is a part of this treatment."

Sounds like they're rolling it while it's heated? Heating it will make the fibers less brittle and more likely to stretch than break? Just a guess.

This would appear to the average person that not only are they not buying an altered bat but that it is OKAY with all sanctioning bodies. I am hoping that SSUSA staff will post here if that is in fact true or a misrepresentation by Kellys.

Discussion: player fees

I am a sponsor so my/our situation is different. I, as sponsor, pay for uniforms and all entry fees. Travel and lodging is the responsibility of the players. Hasn't been a problem for us.
Would you be able to just calculate Uniform costs and entry fees and have your players book their own travel and lodging plans? It simplifies things and will make the amount you need to collect from your players much less.

Discussion: looking for two or three major-plus players to play in Reno

I hear ya Chico, a team up here played in over a half dozen tournaments and never did better than .500, won a 4 team tournament and got moved from AAA to Major. They split up over it and now over half the guys on the team have nowhere to play. Nobody cares.

Discussion: Tourney updates

I know this has been brought up in the past but I need to bring it up again. I have a few friends playing in the ACC this weekend in Loudon and it would be nice to be able to see how their teams are doing. It would not be difficult at all to have the TD take pictures of the tournament brackets at the end of each day of play and post them to social media. It might take a whole 10 minutes to do? It would certainly make a lot of players happy. It is time for SSUSA to step up their game technologically speaking.

I follow SSUSA on both Facebook and Twitter and I'm beginning to wonder why. Step it up guys, what I'm suggesting is far too easy to not be done.

Discussion: why?

I have to agree that this is something that should already be in place. That being said I believe there are some very simple solutions available. I follow SSUSA On Facebook and Twitter. I thought they were stepping up their game in February during the TOC in Florida with all the updates they were posting . It ended up being inconsistent and incomplete but I did enjoy seeing what they posted. I think this gives us a very simple solution to this problem.
My suggestion is, at each tournament, before putting the brackets away at the end of the day simply take a picture of each one and post it to social media. This would increase SSUSA's exposure on social media tenfold as well as satisfying everyone's need for instant updates. Sounds like a win-win to me.

KP&R, Losing by an earned run is a lot different than losing by an UNEARNED 1/2 run. I don't want to win or lose that way.

Imagine losing the championship game of a tournament 19 1/2 - 19? Pretty big drawback to me.
