Thanks for the input Bruce. It's helpful to be able to compare apples to apples. It looks like this bat is a winner and will have to added to my bag as soon as it's available. It's hard to imagine that a bat can be produced that is hotter than the ones already being produced..........kind of scary !

Bruce, I have to ask, if your launching 360-375 foot bombs with this bat, I'm sure you were hitting with other bats as far weren't you.?

Next question, where did you find this bat? All the sites that I have checked are taking pre-orders on this bat and have a September 1st date as a time of release for everyone.

Ed, sorry, a typo. Meant to say, if you get them in before September 1st, please post.

Thanks, Tony

Ed, I assume you won't get them until September 1st. I went to order one last night and a few sites were taking pre orders and they had that above mentioned date as time of delivery. If 6 out get them before that, please post.

Mark, I see you got the 27oz. I know you swing a 26, how does the swing weight feel at that weight for you. On a balanced bat, I prefer a 28 oz. Does it swing light like a Ultra II one piece. I see they are offering these in a 29oz.

Thanks, Tony

Hey Mark, that's just what you need, another senior softball bat ! How many does that make now.....50 , 60? Lol.

Thanks for the post, now I have to get a new bat. Dudley should send you a bat just for the post, I'm sure this thread will generate A fair amount of bat orders.

Hope all is well!

The Easton L4, and L6 are both really good bats for those balls as well.

Paco, should be an easy fix. I had the end cap come off a yellow M M a few years ago. Clean off dust and any loose material off both the end cap and the end of the barrel. Apply a continuous small bead of a good quality adhesive around the inside edge of the barrel and a small bead around the end cap. Push the 3rd cap back in place and wipe off any excess adhesive from the exterior of the bat and let the adhesive dry for a day by standing upright on the end cap ( this will keep the adhesive at the end of the bat ). After. A day, you should be good to go.

Agreed, those were 1.20 . The 1.20's are the ones you want.. You will get more than a handful of tourneys out of them, unlike the 1.21's.

Hey Mark, take it easy on us this weekend in P Town!

WT, $186 is a great price for that bat. 5 he cheapest I found it was over $200. I'm hoping it's the same bat ( 2014 ) as the 2015 model although I just saw a post from Alan at Team 1 Sports who mentioned the 2014 had issues where the knob would fly off. I've never seen a knob separate from a bat and I certainly hope I do not see that anytime soon with mine. I didn't think to ask Alan about this particular bat as he doesn't stock these on his website. I got my Ultra Max load from him in the off season and he was very helpful and even responded thru an email on a Sunday.

This bat felt as good out of the wrapper as any senior bat I've tried and the balanced feel was awesome. Can't wait to start using it, I just hope the knob doesn't go flying in a different direction than my bat!

Hopefully they changed the glue to keep the knobs, from flying off?! Wow, wish I would have read that a month ago when I inquired about the Legit. I bought the 2014 model because I found it $60 cheaper than the 2015. I figures it would be the same bat with different graphics.....oops!

Discussion: MIKEN TRIAD BLACKOUT SEHIOR BAT

To make the above statement more correct, I should add that the majority of 55 teams as well have less of a percentage of players using the one piece Ultra II than the 60 and above players. For the 50 and 55 teams, in the dugouts seem to be more Reeboks, DiMarini, Combats and 2 piece Ultras.

Hey Hemi, I was speaking only about the durability of the one piece balanced Ultra II that Honda had purchased. I agree with you the newer 2 pieces seem more durable. This year I've been using the 2 piece Max Load which I got from Alan ( not that that matters ) but have been very happy with it. It already has about 130 swings on it and is holding up well. I'm sure the TOC and Big Cat would hold up as well as the Max Load. Alan would be a better source as far as info on durability since i do not have either of those 2 bats. I agree the Ultra II is the most popular bat for teams 55 and older, just look in the dugouts. For 50 ' s teams, there are quite a mix of bats and a lot fewer black Ultra II'S than the older divisions and it is primarily due to lack of durability. IMHO

Hey Honda, while I have no doubt you will be more than happy with the balanced one piece Ultra II, the question will be durability. Just speaking from my own experiences with this bat, ( I also had a few 29oz.) it is very fragile. I would only use it in batting practice at first for no more than 30-40 swings then keep it in the bag except for tourney ball. No more bp after that.

I hope it lasts you !

Omar, you are correct on the pullovers that Dean Perkins gives out for the Hayward tourney, those are very nice. He gives you a nice option as well for ordering by color.

Wagon, I hope that was "tongue in cheek " when you mentioned gift cards for 7-11, that would have to go down as one of the cheesiest awards....ever.

I believe both runners would have been out with the catcher leaving his foot on the mat providing the 2nd runner had crossed the commit line. If the 2nd runner had not crossed the commit line, he could try and retreat back to 3rd base.

Bruster, I got got the bat Friday. We had a tourney in Nor Cal this weekend and used it for a half dozen swings during bp each day. Crap, it's as hot out of the wrapper as any bat I've ever tried. I still want to get 30-40 swings on it before using it in a tourney. I stayed with the Ultra Max Load for this tourney but I have a feeling that will be changing. I really like the feel of the Legit.

Not that it matters at this point, But I wonder how much difference if any there is between the Legit and the balanced 2 PC Ultra II since both Worth and Miken are owned by the same company.

bluster, thanks again for the input. I just ordered the 2014 model. I'm hoping there is no difference between the 2014 & the 2015 except for the exterior finish. If the bat is good as I'm hearing, I don't think Worth would have changed the chemistry of a winner.

Ceres, I think you got lucky to have one last that long. You're bat is obviously an older one which is a 1.20. My first U II also had the 1.20 stamp and that bat lasted over one year before it cracked. That bat took a little while before it got broken in and to tell you the truth, I wasn't sold on them even though everyone was using them. Once it got broken in, that bat was sick. I don't think I've ever hit a softball so far. That was my first senior bat. I have since bought 2 more but they come with a 1.21 stamp. While these have come really hot out of the wrapper, both of those developed cracks going around the barrel and both of those didn't last 4 tourneys. I'm convinced that the 1.21 either have slightly thinner walls or the materials used are slightly different ( which I doubt ). I would buy in second more of the older 1.20 Ultra II's if they were available.

Thanks Bruster. Is a 27 oz what you normally swing? 400 hits sounds good to me. I love the balanced Ultra II's, they just don't last. I'm not a power hitter but they don't last 3 or 4 tourneys before they crack.

I'm thinking of getting the Worth Legit. Does anyone know if there is any difference between the 2014 Legit and the 2015 Legit other than the different exterior color ? Also any input on the swing weight would be appreciated. I've noticed the balanced Mikens always swing lighter so I've always added an extra ounce when ordering these. I've also have found the older Easton's to swing a bit heavier.

Thank you for any input!
