| Aug. 12, 2008 cutty | Topic: Associations Discussion: Lincoln Nebraska If the home team is batting and a certain amount of runs are needed for the run rule, the home runs would help you get there quicker. The bases was loaded a few times, a power hitter was up to bat, he hit the ball hard, but it went out of the park for an out. Instead of a run rule now you have another 2 ending to play which lasted another hour. I know what some people would say. Bat control. Maybe i,m speaking from a formal player myself. Good bats good ball equal long games. i wolld like to see open ball come back once in a while. These two team could have played open. |
| Aug. 12, 2008 cutty | Topic: Associations Discussion: Lincoln Nebraska This pass week I wittness some pretty good 50 Major plus softball played against the Seacrest Mavericks and the Houston Texans. It was a best out of three. They did play one pool against each other. The score of that game was Houston Texan 18 Mavericks 14. The first tournment between these teams were played at 7;30 pm on Saturday this game was won by The Mavericks 27-20. At 9pm the same evening another game started 3 1/2 hours later the games ended with the Houston texans coming out on top 48-34. The following morning at 11am the final game was played. This was a good games. It was nip and tuck all the way. In the top of the 7th ending the Houston Texan went up 34 to 21. The Mavericks tied the scored at 34 after all was said and done. The tie breaker was applied after that. The Houston texan could not push a run accross, the games ended The Seacrest Mavericks 35 the Houston Texan 34. Thr home run rule did come into play during the tournment. At one time or another each one of the teams used their home runs after that home runs were hit for outs. I think teams like this should not put limites on home runs. The games were very long, but if it was open Home runs the games may have been over sooner. |

| March 24, 2008 cutty | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: oppinion senior game hitting or fielding Defense matters a lot. Consider a good defense palyer acounting for minus 4 runs or more a game..Example (a great catch with the bases loaded) In the NBA a block shot could help win a game. In softball it does not show up in the stats. That,s why it,s not looked at......MVP,s and all-tournment are bosed on batting avg. Think about it. |

| April 16, 2007 cutty | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Any other results from B'ham? I think Joe Young little brother played Third base. He hit them pretty well himself. The lefty was Doc, But to tell the truth. You could not tell who was who. They all hit well this weekend. Hope this tournment get more teams next year. It was a good complex. I think the lead off batter got out one time. |
