Omar - regarding bats. I would play with either metal or composite bats and as a matter of fact was playing SSUSA with metal bats in 2000. SSUSA also used a much better ball as well.

It seems to me that there are more senior tournaments now and many more teams playing SSUSA then there were 15 years ago.

Discussion: Are walks hits in Senior Softball?

In baseball proper scoring gives a walk a walk and not a hit. However, I think walks are more important than a base hit and harder to get. Give the walker a hit. JMO.

Discussion: Veterans Day 11/11/14

Hats off to all Vets. in USA and Canada.

Here's a little poem by a Canadian, Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch, be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Sounds like you have a solid club Paul. There really are not that many HR's at 60M. I have not yet seen the max 6 hit.

Discussion: Dudley Lighning 12 inch senior bat. Webbing

I too have well over 1,000 hits on my 12" Dudley and found that the clear coat / tacky finish has worn off on a couple of spots and underneath the tacky finish, the barrel is very smooth. No spider webbing at all. Bat is hitting great. Dudley has a nice they built.

They had 10 M teams last year and 7 the year before so trending in the right direction. Always a great place to play in November.

Vegas is a great destination spot. I do believe though that the host City should be paying SSUSA to bring the tournament to their City as the financial gains to the host City are significant...never mind charging field rentals.

Discussion: Las Vegas World ( batters box )

It seems that way to me as well Gunny - all the time! Batters box is too small anyway considering a mat is used. Forces more hits up the middle instead of giving you room to step up and hit a pitch to the off-field.

I agree Cough. I would not be surprised if there weren't more teams at AA or lower around then there are AA & above. Huntsman attracts many of these lower rated teams and it's probably got a lot to do with the numerous divisions they have below AA. Many teams also use Huntsman as a ball/vacation I think. Just an opinion.

Ed can really help someone. Good speed, bat & great person. Out of our area or I would be all over him. Played with us in Huntsman last year.
