Discussion: New rule on shaved bats

Dbax I don't understand how you don't know what kind of bat your teammates are swinging. The biggest part of being on a team or associating with a group of players (including batting practice) is what bat are they swinging. Is it end loaded, balanced, two piece, how long does it break in, how do you like it, can I swing it? The list goes on. My statement about a player who is known to used a shaved bat shouldn't come as a surprise to you or anyone else.

I think the penalty for team/manager suspension should be enforced. I don't think that any teammate or manager does not know that a fellow teammate is using an illegal bat. There's a player in our area that is well known for this violation and he's not referred to in glowing terms.
Hopefully this nonsense will end one day, until then go to the gym, take extra BP, stay in shape or just resign yourself to being a little longer in the tooth and just compete.

This 6-12 pitch falls under perception vs. reality.
Every umpire/hitter will have their own interpretation. It's best that the umpire be as consistent as possible, establish his zone with the pitcher and call illegal pitches loud enough for the batter to hear. The high pitch is easier to call in time but the low pitch not as much and once again be as consistent as possible,

I always check out AirBnb before hotels in Vegas. I can get a room for about what they charge in resort fees alone.

Discussion: You make the call

Nancy it was at BLD in LV, batters box lines are definite, four out of five hitters is a bit much even if the fans are emotinal or not. The umpire should be paying attention regardless.

78 degrees in Las Vegas
The flip flop team had only scored four runs so it wasn't like they expended that much energy on defense.

Discussion: You make the call

Had three interesting scenarios in Las Vegas this past weekend.
1. Four of first five hitters in top of first inning stepped clearly out of the batters box when making contact.
Fans in stands point this out to the umpire, umpire does nothing.
2. Batter is due up, however the batter is in the bathroom and everyone waits on the batter two minutes, umpire does not call batter out but waits.
3. Flip flop occurs, team on the field does not stay on the field but calls "water break", umpire allows the defensive team to go to the dugout for water.
What calls should be made if the rules are to be enforced?

Discussion: Roster question

Our team is playing in St. George March 21-23.
The Southwest tournament in Las Vegas has a fee due date of March 21.
My question is there a grace period to set our roster for Las Vegas given the overlapping dates between the two tournaments?

Discussion: Qualifiers

I understand that Western Nationals and Worlds in Las Vegas need to have a player play in a qualifier to play in those tournaments, is that correct?
If so why are those tournaments listed as qualifiers also? I am assuming a player has to play in another qualifier to play in those tournaments.

I think you have to contact the US government under the freedom of information act.
