| Sept. 20, 2011 Freddie | Topic: Teams looking for players Discussion: Thinking about a 60's tournament team in AZ We are toying with the idea of having a 60 team next year, we have 9 players from this years team that can go 60's next year. Looking for players that love the game & will be able to travel the state of Az, Las Vegas, Silver City, El Paso & maybe southern CA. We usually play 1 tournament a month, sometimes more if we have enough players. Agave Realty |

| Sept. 11, 2011 Freddie | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Third base coach holds runner from going to Home plate thank u, stick8. i wasn't sure about the dead ball |
| Sept. 11, 2011 Freddie | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Third base coach holds runner from going to Home plate any time the base coach touches the runner regardless if intentional or unintentional, it becomes a dead ball & the runner is out. Agave |
| Sept. 11, 2011 Freddie | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Grand Slam but didn't touch 1B as a coach I'm always watching the bases touched on a HR. (1)what happens if the batter/runner touched the outside base(this base is used only when there's a play @ 1st) is he out? (2) if the base runner is forced to touch a base & walks out of the baseline & then goes back to touch the next base after a lot of yelling, is he out? Agave |
| Aug. 24, 2011 Freddie | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Whats the rule? what it comes down to regardless what you do on defense the following inning that last batter to bat in the previous inning has to go to 2nd if not able to the batter that batted before him has to go to 2nd with 1 out.(period) Stick8 you are right & so is butch17 once the runner reaches 3b he can have a courtesy runner or sub. |
| Aug. 23, 2011 Freddie | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Whats the rule? If you're going to sub you can do it for defense but the last batter has to be able to reenter & go to 2nd base, if the last batter can not go to 2nd base for whatever reason, the next batter that batted goes to 2nd with 1 out. |
| Aug. 20, 2011 Freddie | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Tie Breaker Rules Gentelmen, the rule reads the last batter to bat in the last inning. It does not matter what you do in the next inning. If you use a sub you better be sure the last batter can re-enter. Otherwise you will be using the next batter in the order with 1 out. |
| Aug. 19, 2011 Freddie | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Tie Breaker Rules just letting everyone know what if. Everyone have a great weekend |
| Aug. 19, 2011 Freddie | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Tie Breaker Rules 1 more thing that SSUSA forgot to say, if the last batter is not able to run the previous batter before him will go to 2nd base with 1 out. |
| Aug. 19, 2011 Freddie | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: What Define a Major Plus Player, a Major Player and a AAA player and Who rates Them elevation of about 6000 feet, we were there last weekend had a great time |
| Aug. 19, 2011 Freddie | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Amazing-another one we've never seen before Hey Mark, there's no over running the bases to be safe. Rule book reads that the runner has to retouch any base(s) that he touched before he can return to tag up. Who's to say that the umpire saw the runner miss the base because he is watching the fielder make the catch, to be safe the runner should touch the bases going back. |
| Aug. 17, 2011 Freddie | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Use of illegal player/players I agree with mad dog since it was just a fun tournament, the T/D did what he could. It should alert the other T/D that Sportline Bulls from El Paso have done this more than once, they just happened to get caught this time, thanks to the other players that knows the coach & his tatics to win. I also agree w/slugthis the tournament was very well organized & runned. Freddie Agave |
| Aug. 10, 2011 Freddie | Topic: Bats Discussion: Thread to discuss altered bats I've been with senior softball for the last 7 years, never any higher than AAA. All the tournaments that we have gone to there's never been an issue with altered bats. What divisions are having the problems with altered bats? Freddie Agave |
| Aug. 10, 2011 Freddie | Topic: Players looking to join a team Discussion: Over 45 mens leagues Morning Curt, I've checked around & I can't find anyone who knows anything about the 40's. I would call Senior Softball @ 916-326-5303 & ask if there's any 40 teams in Tucson. Good Luck & thank you for asking. Freddie |
| June 30, 2011 Freddie | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: PLAYING FIELDS Divisions rotate fields each year in Phoenix. The only time they may play on different fields is if there's a over flow of teams & usually that has been for pool play only. |
| June 22, 2011 Freddie | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Pinetop Hey Fred, Nice hearing from you. Still trying to get over the "tireds" from Pinetop. Results were as follows: A division- Fan Grabbers aka Duke's Sports Grill, beat Az. Old School (formerly known as Majerle's) after trailing by 12 runs, 19-12. They gave up a 5 run spot to Old School. In the C division Frank Coronado's, Tucson Cowboys ,beat Tucson's Player's Pub, 17-12 straight up. B division -Paul Tone out of the Sun cities beat Gamblers 17-12 straight up. An interesting note--Gamblers went thru the round robin 4-0 in the C division ,but was moved up to B and promptly beat Rusty's 24-10. The Sandbag rule was used to move them up. They were good sports and played well. First place prizes were embroidered warm-up jackets and 2nd place received hooded embroidered sweat shirts. Our next tournament is July 8-10 at Pinetop, Arizona. Our World Championship Tune-up is scheduled for Oct. 8-9 at Casa Grande, half way between Tucson and Phoenix. For more info call Mike Bloom at 602-820-4511 or e-mail at Manddbloom@AOL.com. We have now integrated the Senior Softball World Championship "Code of Ethics" to all our tournaments. Our umpires led by Dan Peterson and Steve Gibbons were outstanding. |
