June 21, 2011 Freddie	Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Another what's the right call? the out side base is used only if there's a play @ 1st from the batted ball to prevent a collision, the fielder must touch the white or runner before the runner touches the outside base. Remember the outside base is for safety & once the plays over, it's no longer part of play. must be on white: before pitch,courtesy runner checking in, tagging up. Agave Realty

As long as they're over 50, is the only thing I care about. Looking at the teams playing this weekend, you probably replaced OTD in the upper division, so we will meet. Jan. 30, 2010 Freddie	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: starting 50 team, what positions do i need to be strongest, etc. it depends on what you mean by competitive AA strong middle including the pitcher, in the o/f 2 to 3 good players & have 6-7 good batters. AAA strong i/f & o/f, good batters from top to bottom with a couple of players that can take the ball out. Majors same as AAA, but now you have 4-5 players that can take the ball out anytime. Major Plus same as Majors, but everyone in the line-up can take it out. Best of Luck, Freddie Agave Realty

Aug. 18, 2009 Freddie	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: UT & CA Why is SSWC suppporting Utah? Looking @ the teams that played in the Western Championship, there was a total of 63 & 4 teams from Utah. CA State Championship had 60 teams the following week, with no Utah teams. In the World last year, there was only 1 team from Utah. Western Championship needs to be moved to another state that supports this league & can draw more teams. Like CA or even Misquite when the 20(?) field complex is completed.
May 6, 2009 Freddie	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Batting Order Help I started a new way of doing the batting order in pool games, this year. Whoever was the last batter in the previous game, the following batter is the lead-off batter in the next game. It's easy on the coach, because the batting order stays the same. Ballplayers like it, because everyone is getting equal cuts. Elimination will become a different story, when the games count. Agave Realty
May 6, 2009 Freddie	Topic: Tournaments Discussion: who do you trust I've been coaching senior ball for 6 years now. I have been in the same situation many times, plus I have also been the recruiter, still am, looking for a SS in AZ(55AAA). When I'm looking @ a player on an other team, I always let the other coach know that I'm going to talk to him. The one thing that I love in the ballplayers, the ones I've talk to, if they have made commitments to their teams, they keep it. They don't jump ship, leaving the team hanging. Agave Realty
April 24, 2009 Freddie	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Calling out the SSUSA staff the way it has been explained to the coaches from SSWC, if you have 5 or more ballplayers from the upper division, you should play the upper division bracket. example: any new team will automaticaly play AAA in their division in qualifing tournaments to get rated. Depending on how you do, runs scored & runs given up will determine your class. Team Tucson got their butts kicked in 2 tournaments before they were moved to AA. Chicano Cubs, a new 55 & over team, has 8 ballplayers who played 50 majors last year & before they took the field they were rated a major team. That's all I have to say. Have a great weekend.
April 21, 2009 Freddie	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: whyWhy is it all offense instead of defense we are a 55 AAA team, we don't have long ball hitters, we finished 3rd in the world last year, all the teams in our division depended on thier defense to get them to the championship. I have read how the major & major plus teams have complained about the new homerun rule. Gentlemen, by SSWC changing the homerun rule, teams have to re-tool their teams to play defense, instead of hitting the ball over the fense if they want to win. No more automatic singles to move the base runner. There are 2 ways you can not play defense, walks & balls hit over the fense. I wish you all, a great year & stay healhty, Freddie Agave Realty
April 14, 2009 Freddie	Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: You make the call #4 the only sure out you have, is the runner on 2nd going to 3rd, not enough info on the rest of the play. Did the runner on 3rd pass the line & what about the runner on 1st, was he the 1 trying to go to 3rd?
