June 29, 2016 surf88 | Topic: Bats Discussion: Lighter bat weight I've been hitting a 26 balanced, a 26 end load and a 25 end load "Melee 2" off my tee in the high elevations for a few weeks now. Currently, I am using the 25EL as my go to and like it a lot. Having a smaller frame/build, my shots to the outfield are giving an opportunity to stretch singles into doubles. Home runs for me are not an option anymore but the ball comes off the Adidas "Melee 2" as quick as any other bat I've used. If you have questions for me, let me know. Most of you know how I can be reached. Surf88 |
June 13, 2016 surf88 | Topic: Product review Discussion: Batting tee I use mine all the time and I am a pre rotator cuff patient. I find it helps me with better mechanics and I might add I am not a HR hitter so hitting the holes and flat shots are a must in my view. |

June 2, 2016 surf88 | Topic: Players looking to join a team Discussion: Moved to Utah and looking for a new team... Bill, I have played at Huntsman Games with Sr. Canuck 3 years and you would truly enjoy playing with these guys in October. BUT you gotta have a sense of humor with them, eh. Also the NM Roadrunners 65M are building and need a a 3b and/or outfielder. Good guys, worth contacting them. Contact Ronne Mercer, ronnegm@aol.com |

June 1, 2016 surf88 | Topic: Bats Discussion: 2016 melee I believe the Dudley is a very good bat. I also believe that the Melee 2 may be better for distance once you break it in and get the swing feel down. The swing feel of these bats is different. Some players may not like what they feel in the beginning with the Melee 2 and frankly, that was the case with me. Friends told me to stay with it and to relax my swing which was hard for me to do at first but I stayed with it and am very glad I did. Thanks, Ed |

May 31, 2016 surf88 | Topic: Bats Discussion: 2016 melee Regarding the break in period, I have been testing the Adidas Melee 2 in the mountains of Colorado at 8,750 feet in temperatures of 45-65 degrees. I have been testing a 26 balanced and a 26 end load. At first, I found it a bit difficult to place the ball where I wanted it to go and I could not really get the swing down. As I hit more balls off the tee, both bats showed more liveliness and I began adjusting to the different feel of the swing. I would suggest that you hit the bat model of choice at least 100-200 times before going at it in a game and you will see that the bat gets better with time. Obviously the big guys can crush a ball with anything, but you base hitters and older players will appreciate the flex and the trampoline effect off this bat. Thanks for the opportunity to share this updated info with you. Ed Andrews Andrews Companies Colorado |
April 17, 2016 surf88 | Topic: Bats Discussion: 2016 melee Capt Kirk, I tested the 25EL Adidas this week. I dropped down from a 27B Adidas. In my particular case, I was hitting ahead of the ball and hitting foul but hard shots. I plan to hit 80 balls today off a tee with my 27B. If you find that you are hitting ahead of the ball try moving up in the box a bit and adjust your swing. I have to be more patient and you may have to be as well. It will be worth it. |
March 19, 2016 surf88 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Achilles Tendon Soreness Thanks to all for your responses. I will try all the suggestions because I play outfield and I still do a significant amount of running. Have been wearing the Tanel mid range cleats. I have orthopedics back in Colorado but do not have them here in Florida. Thanks to all, Ed Andrews Andrews Companies www.andrewsdev.com |
March 18, 2016 surf88 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Achilles Tendon Soreness I've been playing a lot of ball over the winter and I'm experiencing sore achilles tendons. I know there is no tear and my speed has not been hindered but the soreness is aggravating to me and I'd like to resolve this issue. Ideas and thoughts are appreciated. Ed Andrews 970-729-3145 |

March 18, 2016 surf88 | Topic: Bats Discussion: 2016 melee Two responses, I still have a few Reebok Melee Legends in my inventory in Colorado. I have red and yellow. I have the Melee2 models in Ocala, Florida and would be happy to meet with you to hit. A few guys who play in Ocala have tried both models and so far, everyone has spoken positively about their performance and these are 50-74 players. Ed Andrews Andrews Companies |

March 18, 2016 surf88 | Topic: Bats Discussion: New Adidas MeLee 2 As many of you know, I was one of the original Reebok Melee Legend reps and was able to help many players achieve resolution to their early bat problems. Later, I was a Dudley rep for the Lightning and helped players get their bats. What most of you do not know, is I was suckered into investing into the GSC company. I wanted to create an income stream for my family in the event I was taken home from this life, due to the fact I was battling prostate cancer. My life savings went down the tubes with Mr. McKinlay. I am an Adidas Melee2 independent rep and I have recently been swinging this bat. Unfortunately I fractured my thumb in the Florida Half Century tournament in February so I am not 100% with my swing. I can tell you both balanced and end load bats feel good, the ball jumps off the barrel and gets through the infield quick for you base hitters. It has excellent distance out of the wrapper for you long ball hitters. It has a tad bit faster swing through the zone than the Dudley. I actually went up one ounce from my Dudley. I am looking forward to healing my thumb and hitting this bat with more power. Obviously there are a few guys handling the Melee2 but if you want and need an honest opinion and some help in regards to learning more about this bat, I would be happy to discuss it with you further. Feb. 22, 2016 surf88 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Steve Marshal passing Hi Paul, Do you by chance have an address for his father so that we can send him a card? Must be a significant load for his father to deal with now. Best to all the boys & family of OTD. Ed |

Feb. 19, 2016 surf88 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Steve Marshal passing I received my SSUSA Newsletter via email today and learned of Steve Marshal's passing on February 2nd. It was a sad moment for me as I played ball with Steve on OTD in Arizona and he was a tough ball player and a good man. I was happy when he married and even though we had not talked for some time, he will stand out as one of the players I appreciated knowing in the long time acquaintances of playing tournament ball. God rest your should old friend. Ed Andrews Surf88 |
