Discussion: WINTERCREST

That's for sure Crusher, the healthiest guys on the field fell subject to a myriad of injuries when they got near that tent. All the wives on our team acted liked there was a radiation leak in that tent,,,better stay away!!

Discussion: WINTERCREST

Didn't one year at the Phoenix Worlds, Wintercrest had a display tent, where young women applied Wintercrest to Senior Ball Players, as a demonstration on how well it works?

Discussion: What's the best bat for open tournaments?

Well here's my 2 cents,, In eleven yrs of Senior Ball I've had 3 black U-2's 4 yellow combat mm, 3 reebok melee's, 1 combat ambush, and 1 combat Dirty,, I'm a line drive hitter through the infield, when I started using the ambush in tournaments, and league ball my batting avg fell from 750 to low 600's ,after 3 months I went back to the yellow mm, and my avg. shot back up,, 2 weeks later at about 400 swings the ambush cracked,,and a friend, who ordered his at the same time cracked,, maybe we just got a bad batch, but that sweet spot for me, was the smallest I'd ever used, when I did connect, it was some of the longest, I'd ever hit,( yeah, I know, over the infield) My Dirty has 800 swings on it, and is right up there with my yellow mm for avg. and power

Discussion: Sliding on Turf - Big League Dreams Fields

In Tx our BLD has had 4 different players who have slid with raw spots, that later developed into a rare Staph, because of sweat and saliva that cooks in the turf and never gets cleaned.Plus like the wood says,,you don't slide far.

Has anyone played the Home Run Derby on Miken Sports .com lately??
The ball comes in like slow pitch, and is hard to hit.

Discussion: Big League Dreams Fields

I have to agree with all these Posts,,Plus not only are my knees and back going,, must be my mind also,, being 61, playing with 21 yr olds. Playing left center, a little speedy kid hit a shot in the gap,, caught it on one bounce , threw to the cutoff and the kid was almost on 3rd.. I must have been in the twilight zone..

Discussion: Big League Dreams Fields

Is it me, or does anyone else having knee problems, and back problems from playing at BLD,, I can play 6-8 games on dirt and grass,Senior ball, and feel o.k. and play 1-2 games, at BLD, with the kids, and be hurting the next day..Does the concrete base make that big of a difference, or are the kids, just running me to death?

Discussion: Reviews for COMBAT DIRTY BAT

Have 300 swings on a 26 oz balanced dirty, at 5'10 180, not a bat breaker,,playing for aaa 60 Tx. team, batting no 2,, lefty, my job is to drive the lead off man to 3rd ( who is on almost all the time),, have had 5 u-2s 4 yellow mm combats 2 ree boks, and 1 combat ambush(small sweet spot) all 26 balanced, the dirty is very similar to the yellow mm,, grip, and sweet spot,,weighed 26.4 and real quiet on hits till the 300 mark, then started to sound with a deep whump,, with a bit more pop. the the yellow mm,, so far so good,, if I get a year and a half out of it, I'll be satisfied..

Yeah Larry, that same 50 Major Team won the Rocking Reno tourney, why they had you guys playing them straight up, is a little strange..against your team they used all their home runs by the 3rd inning.

Now that the temps here in South Texas are Polar Bear Friendly.. I've broke out my Worth Green EST C405,, This bat is 9 yrs old,,will hit any ball in any conditions, and NEVER BREAK!!And probably only gives up 10-20' ft in Distance, to a Composite.Bring back this Bat and the core 47. Super Blue Dot or the 47. Dudley Thunder, and the distance would match a composite. Players could save a lot of money.

Discussion: Funniest Softball Stories

At least he got the hit, (on the head), Was playing with Tx Thunder AAA at the Vegas Worlds, 2nd pool game of the day against Tri State I think,, Desert Wind Fields, the one where there's an embankment behind the outfield with Picnic tables at the top. Playing right field, went back on a shot deep, started, back peddling ,, caught it at the fence,at the same time,it sounded like a Wolf Pack was fighting over the last bone of the day.A lady had 2 giant shepherds and was watching the game behind rt. field,, when I went back,I scared them, they rushed the fence, growling and snapping,I stood, and stared in disbelef ,, our right center fielder is screaming throw in the ball, throw in the ball, The guy on 2nd tagged and scored, the guy on first tagged and went to 3rd.I proably would have been better off to hit my head and get knocked out!! lol.
