| July 23, 2014 hoovedog | Topic: Bats Discussion: Use for Broken Bats I was changing my Serpentine Belt on my F-150 and as always you need a cheater bar, to slip over your socket wrench for leverage on the Tensioner Pulley. As usual the pipe I use every three years was missing. So I looked over in the corner, at 6-7 senior bats that were cracked on the barrel, and wondered,, sure enough ,sawed at about 20" from the knob, the U-2 made the most perfect cheater bar I've ever had, grip on the handle and knob for leverage. Anyone else found a use for old cracked bats? |

Well here's my 2 cents,, In eleven yrs of Senior Ball I've had 3 black U-2's 4 yellow combat mm, 3 reebok melee's, 1 combat ambush, and 1 combat Dirty,, I'm a line drive hitter through the infield,when I started using the ambush in tournaments,and league ball my batting avg fell from 750 to low 600's ,after 3 months I went back to the yellow mm, and my avg. shot back up,, 2 weeks later at about 400 swings the ambush cracked,,and a friend, who ordered his at the same time cracked,, maybe we just got a bad batch, but that sweet spot for me, was the smallest I'd ever used, when I did connect, it was some of the longest, I'd ever hit,( yeah, I know, over the infield) My Dirty has 800 swings on it, and is right up there with my yellow mm for avg. and power |

Playing left center, a little speedy kid hit a shot in the gap,, caught it on one bounce , threw to the cutoff and the kid was almost on 3rd.. I must have been in the twilight zone.. |

| June 10, 2013 hoovedog | Topic: Bats Discussion: Reviews for COMBAT DIRTY BAT Have 300 swings on a 26 oz balanced dirty, at 5'10 180, not a bat breaker,,playing for aaa 60 Tx. team, batting no 2,, lefty, my job is to drive the lead off man to 3rd ( who is on almost all the time),, have had 5 u-2s 4 yellow mm combats 2 ree boks, and 1 combat ambush(small sweet spot) all 26 balanced, the dirty is very similar to the yellow mm,, grip, and sweet spot,,weighed 26.4 and real quiet on hits till the 300 mark, then started to sound with a deep whump,, with a bit more pop. the the yellow mm,, so far so good,, if I get a year and a half out of it, I'll be satisfied.. |
