HEY TAITS, something tells me we'll cross paths
sooner or later at one of these sterling events.
How did you guys do this weekend. We lost 3 elim.
games by 1 run EACH! As last year, this tournament
seemed to be the most balanced of the year. As you may have noticed on my other posts, we were more than a
little unhappy with the umpiring. But still had a good
time, any time you can play is a good time.

A FEW YEARS AGO THE SPA TOOK A SURVEY OF
MGRS. ON A "SMALL" VARIETY OF SUBJECTS.
AS MANY QUESTIONS & CONCERS THAT COME
UP ON THIS SITE AS WELL AS I'M SURE ON
THE SPA SITE, PERHAPS THE SUMIT SHOULD LOOK
AT THE POSSIBILITY OF A SURVEY ON A LARGER
SCALE TO GET ENOUGH INPUT FROM FROM
MANAGERS TO ADDRESS SOME OF THE PROBLEMS
EXPRESSED BY US ALL. WE NOR THEY WILL EVER
BE ABLE TO ADDRESS ALL CONCERNS, HOWEVER
THERE ARE MANY COMMON ISSUES TO BE
ADDRESSED.

EVIRO, 5GAME GUARANTEE IS 5GAMES. 3 GAMES
1ST DAY, EITHER 2RR & 1ELIM, OR 3 RR IST DAY.
STILL COULD BE DONE IN 3 DAYS DEPENDING ON
HOW MANY TEAMS. PHOENIX WAS DONE IN 3 DAYS
AND LOTS OF TEAMS THERE. WE DON'T MIND
EITHER WAY. BUTTTT, WE DO MIND NOT HAVING
"2" UMPS FOR ELIMINATION GAMES!!!!!!!

VEGAS: PLAYED AT ROMEO FRIDAY, FIELDS WERE
GOOD AND MAINTAINED VERY GOOD. UMPIRES
WERE NOT FAMILIAR WITH SLOW PITCH RULES
AND DID NOT COVER INFIELD ON CLOSE CALLS.
PLAYED DESERT BREEZE, DID NOT CARE FOR
"GRASS" USED IN INFIELD OR OUTFIELD, DEPENDING
ON SPIN OF BALL, IT MAY BOUNCE 2 DIFFERENT
DIRCTIONS. FIELDS WERE NEVER WORKED ON ALL DAY SATURDAY. UMPIRES WERE VERY WEAK!!!
ELEMINATION GAMES SHOULD ALWAYS HAVE
"2" UMPIRES. MISTAKES WERE MADE ON BOTH
SIDES, COULD HAVE BEEN GAME CHANGERS.
UMPS DID NOT KNOW SCORE, EVEN HAD TO ASK
WHAT THE BALL/STRIKE COUNT WAS ON
BATTERS.
WILL NOT SPEND THAT KIND OF MONEY TO GO
THAT FAR TO HAVE ONLY 1 UMP AND NO SCORE
KEEPER!!!!

TAITS, we have faith, we're just spoiled! We want
instant gratification. We thought more teams would
have responded to the question of Who is going.

TAITS, SPRING SSUSA QUALIFER HELD IN PASADENA,
WOULD NOT CALL IT A MAJOR, NEVER A "LARGE"
TURNOUT. UNTIL ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO, "MAJOR"
SPA WAS HELD IN BAYTOWN, IT ALWAYS PULLED
ALOT OF TEAMS FROM AS FAR AS FLORIDA.
TALK ABOUT TRYINGTO GET IT STARTED UP
AGAIN. OUR LEAGUE HOLDS SEVERAL SMALL
TOURNAMENTS DURING THE YEAR, 8-16 TEAMS.
50-55TOGETHER & 60-65 PLAY EACH OTHER.
JUST FOR FUN & RAISE A FEW (VERY FEW) BUCKS
OF LOCAL LEAGUE. T-SHIRTS TO THE WINNERS.

My problem was not with dalton or driving in atlanta,
airport delays out of atlanta was my biggest problem.
Would rather play in a location we could fly directly into
or drive To in less than 6 hours. We loved plano!
