Discussion: Thank-You Dave & Tommy

Playing in Vegas this weekend. There was an umpire doing games at BLD, whom i say as a former umpire displayed very unprofessional behavior in his game prior to & during my teams games. With 2 out a big man busted his butt getting down the line and clearly was past the bag. The umpire called him out. Everyone watching knew he was safe. When asked to seek help he smile and said he made the call. It didn't effect the outcome. Then we took the field. Our pitcher threw a pitch to a batter who was about 6'4", about a foot over his head. It was called illegal. He then voice to my team in the field "I don't like hight pitches". Forcing our pitcher to groove the ball. Then a few batters later. The batter ran up on a pitch and hit the ball and was clearly out of the box. When asked if he was going to call the out, he stated he wasn't going to make the call a batter out for being out of the box. His counterpart in converstion with me couldn't believe what he was doing. We won the game, however this needed to be address. I then spoke with Dave who was TD, who asked me to speak with the UIC Tommy. They both listened to my concerns, and the next day I was informed the issue was addressed. From my observations the umpire was no longer in the park working. I want it know that when a concern is presented SSUSA hears us and acts.. Thank-You Dave & Tommy.

Discussion: Bat policy

I think this is a great start in managing our hot bat with a design for player safety. It would also be productive the have a list of bats approved prior to this announcement as some say senior but don't have 1.21 rating. I know there are several model & brands that have come & gone, the clarity would eliminate any questions.jmo

Dbax, I think the majority agree about the balls knuckling like crazy in Vegas. We played at Arroyo Grande & Dessert Breeze and the balls were dancing for everyone. The first session was very good it was also great having the equipment vendors at the different sites. Loved seeing the Combat label providing their swag for purchase.

Discussion: How can SSUSA possibly reclassify an established Major+ team

I read through all of this. This is my take on the weekend. I played this weekend in some the games mentioned above & against FG. They hit their limit in HRs against us & had to back off due to not wanting walks for their over the fence shots. A couple landing across the parking lot (banging the ball). It is just puzzling how FG went 0-2 Friday. If you have an M+ team what kind of players are you going to replace placers that leave with? Duh!The same caliber(no brainer). So let's not talk about the replacement of players. Bottom line: They should have had to demonstrate they didn't belong in M+ before dropping down. FG's Friday’s effort had you guessing. Saturday answers to the question were verified. To be the bottom seed and roll like they did the rest of the tournament one can only can only think SB. Before it is stated no sour grapes or anything like that. They won it. Enjoy the win.

I\'\'m looking for a team going to play in St. George, Ut, in the the 50\'s A -AA -AAA divisions. I\'m in good shape and available to travel. I\'m a outfielder / infielder with average arm strenght, good wheels, and a solid bat. I mostly base hit but also have a little pop. I would like to hook up with a Central Valley or Nor Cal team, however open to other options including out of state teams. Presently playing with team out of Stockton.
