Discussion: HR shaggers?

In our league, if you hit a ball over the fence than you do not have run the bases or even touch first. You hit and then run to get the ball.

Yes it is true ! Sun Lakes is home to the best of the best hitters in the world. We all can hit 400ft, run like the wind and of course we are always good looking.

Well maybe homerun Bil can hit 400ft and we do have a guy that almost run to third base without stopping and my wife thinks I am kind of cute. Washington fan; you are welcome and we look forward to seeing you.

Discussion: Reaper bat ?

I have known BG for many years now. Watched him hit, teach and more times than not get walked. Off the field I have watched him build this Rip It deal from nothing to a national company in a year’s time. So let me tell you as the #1 troll that the best is yet to come. It is my guess these guys’s will not only get involved with SSUSA but be a major player and then take the lion’s share of the senior market. Not only in bats, a full line of equipment for senior players. SSUSA should welcome Rip It into the fold.

Discussion: Fastpitch my a-- !

I know little about the tech area of bats nor do I understand the whole fastpitch/slowpitch concern. Over the past two years I have played with or against Bill Gateley aka homerun Bill. Last fall he used a 34/28 Rip It ASA bat that said fastpitch on it. Many cried foul for fastpitch bats are a sin in senior softball for the bat had to be more powerful then a slowpitch bat. The avg homerun was about 345 ft or so. Since the bat was ASA stamped the umps did not mind but some of the other players did so Bill changed to standard Rip It black ASA bat (without the fastpitch) and the homeruns went about…..345 ft. He would tell us that fastpitch is only a marketing tool and nothing more. The ASA testing is the same, the barrel is the same the bat is the same except for drop (difference between the length and weight). So again he would use the f/p – boom 345 ft – the senior ASA – 345 ft. Then a Senior Elite and – kaboom 370 ft or more. We do have a guy on our team that uses a 34/25 Bill gave him and the only difference is he can swing a little faster and that’s it.

Hey Miken - Worth; I smell an eggroll here. So you are saying that Miken has nothing to do with any production of any bats in China. Not hhat it matters to me but why cover it up if true ???

I am going to buy a the new U2 with the old knob. Can anyone tell me if it has the 1.20 stamp on it ? Someone told me it no longer is on the bat and our league requires the 1.20.

Discussion: rip it reaper

At least out here in cool Az the rumor is the Rip It senior yellow bat will be legal for SSUSA this fall. Our best hitter, homerun Bill has not been around and sure he is out working on Rip It business so I cannot ask him about that. However I am hoping the rumor to be true since mind yellow bat has held up very well (I don't hit hard) and would look forward to using it this fall in tournaments.

Discussion: rip it reaper

Get smart son, Combat has nothing to do with Rip It. Clearveiw dba Rip It contracts with CE not Combat to make their bats. These bats are all Rip It designed from the ground up. They have a product and supply agreeement so CE cannot make the Rip It bat for anyone else. I am getting tired of the Combat grew trying to take credit for something they have no part in. I understand they have to be upset that Rip It has shot by them in sales and statue. Too bad, just lick your wounds and get out of the way.

Discussion: Batting Gloves - ??

Do batting gloves really make a differance ?
Looking at Softball Sales catalog and there must be a zillion gloves there. Some say it will change the way you hit, some even say their glove will make you hit better.
Do they work or can - if so than what type or style ??
Or could you use some garden gloves ??
