Nancy did the M+ teams spot the M teams 5 runs and play under major rules? Is this an indication that we need to combine the two divisions? Not asking you this directly, just throwing it out there in general.Or should these M+ teams have been moved up in the first place?I kind of agree with the Wood on this topic.COMBINE

Discussion: New HR rule

The new Hr rule is a joke.It may be fine for lower divs. But when you limit M+ teams out put to ten than outs than you have handicapped the game. Our age is a handicap we don't need rules to do the same. Our solution is that we will only play (2) SSUSA events this year, maybe (1) now, with the conflict between ISF and Midwest.Than after this season that will be my last.

Well all the drag racing got my attention,I had to post.I have a 9.90 super gas 87 monte aero coupe.Best pass 9.84 @ 142 mph.Back half stroker small block, all motor.I also fish on the B.A.S.S. circuit.I also chase a golf ball around from one bush to the next.So throw in running a M+ softball team and it's no wonder I had to retire.I also restore and build customs and drag cars.

Lazer if you get real bored shot me an e-mail at usa50plus@yahoo.com.Ken doesn't understand ILL. politics it's all about the money$$$$$.Looks like Santo got sent to the office. It's pretty obvious that there is something not copastedic about these fields. You must know a little about them.Send any info. to my e-mail.Keep it off the board I don't want you to get sent to the office too!

Wow you got it.The mayor of Champaign didn't think it was worth 10K to sponsor this tourney. How he will explain it to the local merchants who will miss out on millions of $$$ to the local economy, will be interesting.Sounds like Blago is in charge, thought he got impeached?Yes wagon better bats and balls that should be a great draw that being the only draw back last year.Plus I think they got right on HR rule,9 hrs than one up,out if you go two up.What so hard about that?

Gary you are exactly right with your comment on the City of Champaign breaking the deal,a very short sited city government.Didn't see the "for a hamburger today I would gladly pay you two tomorrow" part of the deal. After all this is Illinois politics. What brought my attention to this post is you got a guy who plays on these fields 4 nights a week and he is saying that he is embarrassed to have his fellow players play on these fields.I'm just trying to get a idea of what I will be spending my week end and money on.After all the controversy on the Mesquite fields and with teams playing games on converted baseball fields and so on.I am going to spend my money on the very best venue available for comparable cost.I am not ruling Champaign out yet merely gathering information.Lazer Larry I will keep you posted.

Santo, after reading your post,I am also curious and concerned about the new location which according to you is not all that nice.Part of the allure of the Midwest tourney was the beautiful fields, which drew a good number of teams and a great host in Rudy Pribble.Don't know if we want to spend $4K to go see Rudy. The tourney date was changed not to conflict, instead it now conflicts with ISF World Cup in Salem, Va.that we had planned on going to.With the new venue in ILL. the ISF is still a possibility. Thanks for your input.By the way, the fields in Va. are second to none.Which will weigh in on the decision.

You got it Dirty. We had to get smaller and more defensive with 10 hr limit and 5 run rule.Had to send some big horses out to pasture.(TO BAD THOUGH)We are having try outs for a back up pitcher that can play other positions. What do you know about mr. elliott. He is from your neck of the woods?

Got it Joe.Yea if I can't get my own players to agree with me I guess I'm the one barking up the wrong tree.If he doesn't come over to my way of thinking I will have to move him down to 2ND in the order.LOL

Stick,I think we are missing the point here.I agree with Sal bat and ball combos are here to stay.Whether we like it or not.SOOOO because of that they are going to have some kind of PPR for liability reasons and safety.Everybody knows that these bats are hot and pitchers are at risk.I know that there is a reasonable amount of risk in the game but this is I think beyond that.So with that in mind would you rather have this ridiculous new PPR or add a player to the infield? When you think about it,it would again take away some of the advantage of these bats blasting balls thru the infield.JMO

Dirty I agree that the middle is part of the field and I don't like PPR/DBO or HR limits for M+.and you don't have to remind me about special bats and balls. We don't hit the middle out respect for opposeing team.I know you pitch and I'm pretty sure you won't want our players hitting back at you. My comment on the MB was simply trying to offer something more practical than the PPR/DBO and keep the game in the hands of players not umpire/rules.We play, like alot of other teams 11 players in league.ASA rules and equip. and it is just fine.Have a great day.

Rick,We are still trying to sort things out with ISF and Midwest tourney.SSUSA moved Midwest to same week end but, with all the new and crazy rule changes we might play more none SSUSA stuff. What team did you play for last year.We had a great time at that tourney and loved the facility.Bathrooms in the dugouts that was cool.Sweet is a good team I'm not sure way they went back down.Didn't have any trouble with to many HRS out there in Va.I like that format.

Have a great day
