Sloball, There really is only 1 or 2 people that continue bringing up balls that I have noticed and stand out over everyone else. I am sure probably everyone is tired of it. It is what it is and I agree with Butch. Lets just play ball.

Just to be a smart a**, lets make all divisions unlimited homeruns and the Major + division will have a ton of teams after the homerun hitting teams get moved up and the single-double teams stay down. They can play their 3 or 4 inning games witch is fun to them in the 1 hour time limit and the non homerun teams play 6 or 7 and have more fun for the money we pay.:-)

Rooster, Same thing happened to us with that 5 run rule. First tourn. of the year last year. It was a joke did not win either. They should be basing rerates over the ts that you play. If your are kicking butt over everyone, then you should probably be bumped.
If you win a Major tournament they should be looking at past scores in other tournaments and where you finished before bumping you. Any team can get hot. If your roster is the same all year the powers to be should look at that also in considering rerates. Someone said the process is flawed and we all know it is except the powers. Enough of my babbling, it does not get anywhere.

Your are obviously talking about this Windy City team. They were Major+ when the season started and were rerated to Major later. Should they have bought new uniforms during the season? You must have been on 1 of the teams that got beat by them. Get over it.

I would think they have to be released from their new teams to play in the TOC with your original team that qualified. You can only, supposedly be released once a year then you have to stay with your second team. I have seen players play with 3 and 4 teams this year and nothing is said about it, but they got away with it somehow. My guess is they showed up the second day when no one has to check in.

Discussion: Playing down two or more divisions?

Curveball, I understand there are reasons why a player would need and want to play down such as yourself with health situations. I am talking about guys that are playing down 2 divisions just to play as Bruce states above he has seen it and I have also. We all know that it happens. I just don't understand why some players would want to do that. Hopefully things continue to go well for you.

I know it gets by sometimes, but I do not see why a Major or Major plus player would want to drop down two divisions in the first place. We all know why lower level teams would do that but what about the teams that play it straight, not fair to them. Associations need to come up with something a little better regarding their cards. Just add it to the long list of why maybe some teams don't do as many tournaments. Don't have money so don't know what this is worth:)

Weather, Unless they changed, which I do not think they did, you will play at the division you qualified in. So you would play AAA.

I do not think you could really combine 2 age divisions and have be fair. You could literaly put a team of 49 year olds turning 50 together and go against an older 55 team for example and my money would go on the young guys if I had any. I think that could be true for all ages.

Combine Major and Major+,continue to rate teams as now. If Major teams play Major+ teams, use Major rules with the 5 runs and HR RULES. If Major+ play each other, they play by their rules. If the Major teams are strong and beat the plus teams they get moved up as needed. Still only 1 winner in that division. Don't know if this makes any sense but another idea.

Sag,
I applaud you for staying to play in this Tournament even tho your situation changed. A lot of teams would bale out and have done so in past tournaments even tho they were rerated after winning 3 or 4 to start the year. I do not understand when teams say they can not compete at the next level when they have not even played it is beyond me.

I noticed some teams as of July 5th have been rerated. I only looked at the 50s and 55S.

Discussion: MIDWEST CHAMPIONSHIPS - Weather Delay Update

Again I would like to apologize to Joe and Ray for my big temper tantrum Sat. night at the Itasca fields. It was not their fault for the problem that arose. They did a great job getting the field in shape for us and the Panthers to play. Thanks to the Panthers for being patient and understanding for the situation that our team was put in. They are a class team. Also my apologize to the Panther ladies for the language issue I had.
Alot of times all we do on this board is bitch and moan. There are times to give people credit when it is due also.

Taits,
Looks like they are going to try and update every day which is something we are not used to. We usually get results a week or so later.

This Tournament starts in 9 days for the 65s, you would think that field assignments or something would be posted by now for all divisions. We still count even tho this is in the Midwest and not the West part of the country.:)

Don't know if this helps at all but I had heard they are are only using the Berens fields on Friday. That park has 5 fields, Itasca has 2 fields and the Schaumburg park has 5 fields for those not familiar with any of these. Good luck getting any info.

Harri, Go to the Tournament section and hi light the Midwest Championships and you will find info on fields there. They are using 3 different complexes in 3 different towns so good luck.

Corky I do not believe it is 1 up after the limit, but it is doubles for sure.It has been the same every year since I have been going there. They also go with 70 foot bases which is what their leagues are and not the 65s that are the normal.

Discussion: Deleteing The PPR Rule

This PPR rule has been beat to death. Take it out, allow the extra infielder in all divisions if your team chooses to. They allow it in the older divisions so whats the difference. People will have their gripes about this also but I am sure it would help out the pitcher some as far as hitting the middle at least in my world. Us old 16" players probably would agree and you old 12' players:) would disagree. It's alright to agree to disagree I would think. Just my .05 worth, inflation.
