Discussion: Worlds 70 Major Bracket Logic?

Webbie, while I disagree on most of what you posted on this matter, let us get one statement you made straight. I'm keeping it as nice as I can. The 70 M Scorpions were put together by Dennis Dalton with Kenny S. and coached by DD. All the new players were being recruited by DD and Kenny before Mike took over the team. Reasons we will not go into. The others players added to the roster were from the 65 Scorpions moving up to 70. So, Mike Adair did not put together anything. But Mike is reaping the benefits of others hard work.
That being said, I wish the 70 Scorpions good luck in the worlds and good luck next season.

65 Major rated outfielder available if a 65 team gets into a bind for players. A one time exemption waver will be needed. 618-975-5704

Discussion: 11 defensive players 65+

Using the same thought process that SSUSA used when Timberworks were allow to play with 11 defenders and ruin the 65 major tournaments. Now the 65s, when playing a 60 team with the same rating index will be allow 11 defenders to the 60s 10.
So,I'm guessing that in a year or 2 the 60s teams will be force to use 11 defenders. Then the 55s, 50s etc.
SSUSA did not care what the 65s Majors players thought about playing a same indexed rated team but having to give a extra defender. They did not care what the 65s thought then or do the care now.

Discussion: Can a player run for another one twice in one inning?

Guys, you can run for different players as many times as you want in the same inning. You do not have a official score keeper, the umpires do not write down the players # that pinch run. It has happen to my teams twice. Open inning, a lot of hitting and pinch running. You bring attention to the umpire of the infraction. They do not remember who ran and when. No official book. No recourse. Tournament director, shrugs his shoulders. Just saying. Ain't that right Mr. McElroy.

Dave, gloating is not becoming of you. I did not hear you gloating last year, when you allowed Timberworks destroy the 65 Major division in the Southwests Championships. You got away with it, this time.
And no matter what the discussion, there is always one brown nose, that gets involved with the threat.

Discussion: Major Plus Teams in Winter Worlds, Session 1

SSUSA has something against the 65 Major division. They screw over the Major group in the Southwest last year by letting Timberworks in 65M bracket play. And, wow, they won the tournament. Now letting a 70 Major Plus team in the 65M bracket play. Even tho they have the same team index as 65 Major. They are allowed 11 defensive players to 10. I'm trying to understand how that is fair.
These teams recruit all the best players west of the Mississippi, to the point that no other teams want to play in the major plus division. So, with no one to play, SSUSA allows the few or 2 teams to screw over the 65 Major teams. It makes me wonder if there is some politics going on in Sacramento.
SSUSA leave the 65 Major division alone.

Dantheman, having diabetes myself, I take 900mg a day of gabapentin. It seems to help. I lace my cleats very loosely. The more I play the better the feet feel. My hands tingle, but does not seem to hinder my play much. I'm sure diabetes affects everyone differently. Good luck.

Discussion: Courtesy runner

Why not just let the CRs come and go as they want. It is a stupid rule to let's Joe beer belly trot to first, so the fastest runner available can run for him. Then because the umpire does not keep track, or there is no official scorebook, that fastest runner can run again in the same inning. Then the umpire plays dumb. Why enforce one rule for the CRs and not the others.
Rule should be changed to the CR comes from the last batter to make a out. Stop all this chaos.

When you have a monopoly, you do not have to keep your customers happy. SSUSA has a monopoly out west. You can throw out any excuse and the players have to take it. Posting scores on a timely matter is all the players want. This has been a beef for years. But as for SSUSA, they seem not to care.

Discussion: Rating???

mck71, thanks for adding to the discussion. As for the NJ Hitmen, if what you say is true, why did SSUSA post on Jan. 3, 2018 that the NJ Hitmen were Major. There would have been no need to re post the same rating if it was not some discussion in Sacramento. Maybe it was a mistake.
Dbax, always good to hear from you. Hope to see you in league in 2 or 3 weeks. If not sooner
Andy, thanks for the greeting and your thoughts. Thinking of playing 65 with Results out of Vegas. I hear, per BH, you have added some players that just might put you in the same boat as the 3 teams I have mention. Be very careful. Anyway, good luck and hope to run into Used2be this season.
P.S. Andy, I do not think that either the Ancients or Enviro Vac are major plus teams. But, what do I know.

Discussion: Rating???

I am totally confused. Being a 65 player I will post this only concerning the 65 ratings.
1. Why was the Old As request to be downgraded to major denied? Most of the team had quit before the Vegas worlds. 2 players quitting and running to Timberworks. The manager still put a team in the tourney, picking up 4 or 5 players who had not played all year with the Old As, and were not playing in the tournament just to fill a team. Which was not easy. While the rag tag bunch did win a few games. They were not a major plus caliber team. So the thanks for supporting SSUSA and putting a team in their tournament. You are punished and have to play Major plus even though the teams roster was and would be totally different than than the roster of the 2017 season.
2. Now I hear Timberworks has put together such a monster team. They have to give 5 runs when playing other major plus rated teams in their division. I'm confused.
3. In the 2017 Vegas worlds [ I am going by memory because SSUSA still has not posted the scores from the tournament] in the 65 major division. The top 3 teams were 1 New Jersey Hitmen 2 Enviro Vac 3 Arizona Ancients. The new ratings come out and the Ancients are the only team moved to major plus. The top 2 teams remain major. I sorry but I am CONFUSED.

Discussion: DARK CLOUDS IN 65 MAJOR PLUS

After reading my friends post on illegal balls used in Reno, I knew he would received nothing but venom. If he asked me I would have advise him not to post this issue. But that being said, I would guess that all of those that responded to this post are major plus and or home run hitters that would like nothing more than the use of rock balls be part of all of SSUSA tournaments.
Sure there is history between DD and Timberworks. But that is another story. But,I would like to say that "major plus" and home run hitters should not dominate this post and senior softball. But we all know the huge egos of most of the major plus players. Here are my thoughts, but from a AAA player, this was the 3rd day of the tournament. Not the 1st day, The stote ball was provided by SSUSA . It was not 1 ball but 3 that was given to the umpire. You can claim ignorance if you want. But it makes me wonder, does this manager provide, maybe, shaved bats to the team? Just wondering out loud.

Discussion: Its Unanimous - The Best Senior Softball Players Are in California and Florida

This rule needs to be reconsider. Talking to a player today and the word going around is that this rule was put in to benefit the owner of SSUSA and his teams W.E. Ruth out of Washington. I do not see the logic unless someone can explain it " like if I was a 5 yr old ". Alot of teams bordering California will be hurt if not totally destroyed.
Florida teams for the most part will not leave Florida for major tournaments because of the Florida Half Century League. That leaves alot of players looking for teams outside the state for the opportunity to play in the worlds, nationals etc.
Someone help me out here!!!!
