We have a Rec league and have not implimented the pitcher rule because of all the controversy.
We umpire our own games . Good Luck getting somebody to call the rule and interpet the call.
I can imagine the calls being made in tournaments.
There are rules that have been on the books for ever, that never get called right.

Discussion: A team's rating!

Duke & Ken you have the right thoughts.

A player rep for every age bracket. One that knows and is willing to talk with teams he does not know .
One that will consioder and listen to the facts.
Then put it to a committe to decide from the players aspect

It is humiliating to be rated Majors as a 70's team and get
beaten by AAA teams and then the majors team beats you in 2 games
32 to 7

not much fun for a new team or players.

These are facts not conclusions

Discussion: A team's rating!

I have created a group email list

that contains all of these players email on the advisory board
.
Probably it is the first time " all" of them have gotten and email from a player.

I have recently sent them one. There was not much satisfaction in sending the email. I could have sent it to you.

My guess is they do not have any clout that is needed.
There is nothing that tells what they do.

This is the type of group that should take complaints

Time stamp them communicate with you .

Then get a consensus approach on problems.

I am confident that this is probably not happening.

It is easier to take your money and not do anything.

For those of you that are happy with the current system, you have a great rest of the year. I think a player's committee might be in order here from all ages and levels of play, and forget this Hennessey sight unseen decision making based on not watching a team play, nor trusting his staff that run his tournaments. Fran and Dave, it has always been a pleasure dealing with you both. If you ever have your own organization, we will be first in line with many others. Thank you!

I totally agree. We pay the bills but we get dictated to we have no say

We are a new 70's team and got rated Majors, we have not had a chance to gain that title.

We were beaten by coffee cup a team Terry hennessy knows well by 32 to 7 in 2 games

When coffee cup went from 65 majors they were rated AAA and yes manged to beat up on everybody,

This team should be rated majors plus.

A new organized 70's team getting rated Majors. Is somebody not thinking. It is difficult to find enough players to play at 70 without some person that has never seen us play rating us majors

WE DEFINITELY NEED A PLAYERS GROUP greengiantadams@aol.com

Good luck on your complaint. We players have no voice in what happens. Consistency what is that.
We as a new 70's team were rated Majors.
New teams should play until they deserve that rating.
You are absolutely right but get somebody to listen to you.
SSUSA -SPA SSWS Have 3 different plate sizes
3 different roster formats
They can't seem to agree or talk with players on anything .
It is dictated to us.

Players need a group voice.

I brought up pitching box concerns. I would have got more satisfaction talking to a tree.

Now I am trying to appeal my rating. At best we are a decent AAA team that has gotten beaten bad by AAA teams.

Either we are a bad majors team or there are some awful good AAA teams or just maybe- maybe the higher ups rating us made a mistake.

Not many or anybody one can turn to in these situations.

We were beaten again by AAA teams and one majors team
The majors team scored 32 runs to our 7
coffee cup minnesota do you suppose they should be rated majors plus or maybe they possibly made a mistake in ourn rating?

Libert ywe won 1 game and lost 4 with 3 AAA teams
omaha we won 2 and lost 4 taol all AAA teams

We definitely sound like a majors team.

People and teams that watched us play could not believe we were rated majors.

yet coffee cup a 65's majors and won many tournaments
became 70's in tact as a team and were rated AAA

probably the radar was not working when they rated them

They should be majors plus with non doubt

It is no science but with no voice we have to do what the straw boss's tell us

Discussion: Ratings; to move up or down or stay where your at, a comfort zone as it were.

The orginiations dictate what is happening players have no voice

For example
SSUSA
SSWS
SPA

They all have different size home plates
different rosters

to acomplish the same things.

In our teams case a new 70's team we were rated
Majors right out of the box
We were 2 wins 4 losses at our first tournament
against AAA teams

You could conclude there were some underrated AAA teams or we could have mistakenly been rated Majors.

Believe me the only person you could talk to is the person in the sky or a stick.

70's teams getting rated Majors come on !!!

A Minneapolis team moved from the 65's where they were rated majors to the 70's bracket

This team has won some Maor tournaments
They were given a Tripe AAA rating.

There couldn't have been some favoritism or
possibly somebody made a mistake

New teams should always have to prove they are Majors

Three diffeent orginizations
SSUSA
SSWS
SPA

3 different plate dimensions.
3 different rosters that do the same thing
some have impossibe requirements
2 snowbird cards have to be used for any player
that plays in SPA or SSUSA
SSWS accepts either card

How do you expect them to be able to rate teams with the same intent. It is purelu one sided. Theirs.

Does any of this ever make any sense.
One does not get very far talking to the powers from above.

I had mentioned we need a players group to represent our needs and review some of the thngs that can not be changed except from the powers from above.

Do no call it a union
Call it a players rep group

Discussion: Team Ratings

Last year a team out of Mpls known very well by Terry Hennessy was rated AAA when they joined the 70's division

That same team at 65 was rated majors, team members remained about 100% the same.

What is good for the Goose should be good for the Gander but somehow they manage to make these exceptions for certain teams.

Forming a 70's team is not an easy task. I f I had to think about it again I probably would not do it.

I do not liove in an area where there are lots of 70's players.

It is basically taking a player that will travel and be loyal to the team.

The point is it should be the same for all. Not based on what they think or who they know or don't lnow.

This is a new team with some experienced players and some new players.
