Horrible experience in the world. He did not tell you that people bring their sons no matter what so you play against young people. Most of the teams are made up people that come down from the north. They have been coming for years. No camp took batting practice one day then double elimination tournament. Was not told til I got there no senior bats. I had to go buy ASA bat.

Discussion: Las Vegas Fields and Umpires

Played at BLD Um
umpires did a great job with out and safe calls. They stood behind the catcher missed the strikes on the front, and on the strips on the side of the plate.I asked them why and one said the catcher was in his spot.First Tim I ever saw SSUSA use those type strike mats. Vegas has changed food and drink is over priced now.

Looking at the city website they want 1200 dollars a day for the Veterans Complex. That could have a lot to do with it.

We had the same umpire for all of our games. We never had 2 umpires. We paid 500 plus dollars.. He called balls and strikes with his right hand we never knew what the count was. .I know why we did not play many 7 innings in 70 minutes Because of all the walks.Way below SSUSA standards

Outfields were an adventure. The real problem was the Bracketing.Look like they threw team names against the wall what stuck was in bracket. 65 teams playing 70 and 75.The 65 team won the bracket. The 70 and 75 teams never had a chance for TOC bid.. We paid 525 dollars for a whipping. The brackets were made in California not at the park. We were a 70 AA team absolutely hammered by the 65 teams.

Dave I play for the 70 AA Crackers We are not a good team.Under this format some of these guys will never get a chance for a ring.Under the way the format use to be. Being the only AA team would guarantee a ring a TOC bid. SSUSA makes commission on the rings. Both parties benefit. Jack Roden
