Oct. 24, 2011 J R	Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Balls In Houston we keep the stote in a cooler temp. at 60 degrees we take them out 30 minutes b4 game time. The Baden Fire is an excellant ball.My day league has started using the Tattoo ball from AD Star. Hell of a ball flies and holds up well. I got them from Kevin. The Rock will not hold up in hot weather it goes thud when you hit it.

May 23, 2011 J R	Topic: Bats Discussion: curious umpire I spoke with Corky the Miken rep. this weekend in Georgetown. He said removing the rod fom an ultra is in no way an advantage. You just have a bat that sounds funny when you hit the ball.
May 18, 2011 J R	Topic: Bats Discussion: curious umpire they were mainly speaking of ultra's. I always thought 26 oz ultra had no rod an so many ounces of rod added to it to make the stamped weight. The uic said it would increase the flex of an ultra if you removed the rod ?Some how i do not see how that could happen.We were told to toss the bat from the game if no rod. I knew about the rubber plugs. I still have my original freak
May 18, 2011 J R	Topic: Website comments Discussion: High Tourney Entry Fees and Week Prizes shirts are the cheapest prize they can give 100.00 per winning team. Tournaments are expensive. I visited with Fran in Tuscon. What they pay for field rental was unbeleiveable. Most guys do not realize they also pay field prep charges, most of the workers are on overtime because we play on weekends.We had an SSUSA tournament 15 teams x 300.00By the time i paid umpires bought shirts paid 30.00 sanction per time. My league only cleared 750.00.

May 16, 2011 J R	Topic: Bats Discussion: curious umpire Recently we we instructed by UIC to check bats, and make sure the end was not taped over.So we could see the rod was still in the bat.What is the advantage to removing the rod. Seems to me the bat would be hollow. Someone please help me

They destoyed the Lousians Legends 60's team after giving up 5 run spot

So they know who to cover.This thru SSUSA insurance. Umpires must be SSUSA certified to be covered.We found something called sports insurance to cover a tournament. It was not any cheaper.Our regular league insurance did not cover recreational tornaments
Feb. 24, 2011 J R	Topic: Bats Discussion: Has Anyone Else Had Problems With The Reebok ME'LEE Legend Senior Softball Bat Because Mine Cracked After 45 Hits Any Durability Problems? I got and email from Reebok in Florida saying no bat til. 3-15-11. I cancelled the order and called Anaconda they have them in stock and will ship today.

My only trouble is i cannot seem to get my bat was ordered 1-05-11.reponse to inquiry is they are in U S .Then they are in Florida. I worked for a company and we could get anything anywhere over night.I am in Houston. I know alot of guys here waiting for them
