Thanks for all the input - I just had hand surgery so have 6 weeks to get my hand and my ankle ready. Am working on drinking water, hot tub could be in the future and the stretching keys with Wintercrest. Hopefully I will improve by May-June season.

texas: tried stretching and taping just seems to make it worse. Tried velcro ankle wrap and high tops just in case. Tried icing but that didn't seem to help either. I used a icy-hot bandage which seems to relieve the pain for a short amount of time. Do you think there is anything to the "pickle juice" or rolaids theory that I have been reading in some of the other messages? I do drink alot of Pepsi, so maybe I'm dehydratng and that is part of the problem.

Ok, so I'm a lady who in the last year has had problems with my achilles. Just when I think it is better, about 2 innings and it feels pulled and is screaming. Am in early sixties and usually active but need to know how to correct/fix this from reoccurring (strain?) I'm not much of a water drinker and my ankle hurts to touch. I usually walk alot to stay fit but this ankle thing is making that really hard. Any help with the same problem?

Did you find enough ladies to play - I haven't played in a tourney yet but flights are pretty cheap right now. Details if interested.

After going to watch at Menifee, am really interested in playing in 60's. Dirt bike crash years ago left me throwing ALWAYS underhand. I play Senior Men's in Fresno 1 night a week, Manage/Play Co-Ed team 1 night a week and Manage/Play Women's Fast Pitch team in early summer every year. I'm not great/ not horrible - very enthusiastic. Married, daughter at Tulsa playing softball and need to continue being active. I have played Catcher/2nd/OF in seniors, Catcher/1st/OF in co-ed and Pitcher/2nd/OF in fast pitch. My name is Linda Smart ("desertlady" because I still ride/occassional race dirt bikes)

Looking for women's 60 team in SoCal/NorCal/CenCal to try out. Am 61, not great, throw underhand from outfield but can still run, catch, hit. Enjoy hard workouts and not afraid to travel.
