Angus I agree, Kevin has took the time to take care of the problem, and he is and has been good to work with, I have no problems with him or his business and Naomi is very friendly and very helpful also. Thanks, Kevin and Naomi, from Rabbit

Thanks for the tips, I have used Gorilla Glue, and J.B.Weld, Super glue, all works for a while, JB Weld was the best , it holds till you hit one off the end of the bat and that does it again, I am sending it back for the second time today, hopefully it will hold this time when they redo it, The Original Combat grey and balanced it a great bat, hated to put it to rest. Lemons, you are right, The Indy 60's have the same players that were at the team meeting at the beginning of he year, I know, because I was there also, some did just turn 60 and joined the team in June, some said they could not go to Lansing, so they were left off the roster,I would imagine that is why they were not on it, besides they have 23 players on there roster. What SPA did was not right, over the past 12 years I have seen a lot of teams, that were playing down, and the Indy 60's are not one of them, they never moved any of them up to my knowlege, Rabbit

Lemons, I would like to correct your statement you made on a team name, the team you are thinking about was the Indiana Legends/Webbs auto and not the Indiana Classic 55's, which is my team, I would never say anything bad about the Indy 60's team. Two of the Indy 60's play for my team in the 55's and I do not want to be mention as a team that did say anything,

Hi Grumpy55, according to the tournament board on this page it is on July 24-26, and I assume this is correct, and I am with you, I do not know why Rudy does not have it this year, he did a great job.

It might also be noted that NSA World's in Boaz and Cullman,Alabama are the same weekend, July 24-25-26, but this is a tourney only for teams that can hit the ball without having to use the U2 and the Combat. Joe Cothran told me a week ago they will be using better balls this year.
We will be at this touney, have been there the last 5 years, cause the bats do not matter to us,and I can stay at any hotel there I want too.

Hi Gelpas- Ken, you are right ,it is alway good to put a face to a name, I met a lot of guys who read the board everyday, but usually do not post, and that is ok.
The All-Star game is a great time to meet players from other teams, and get a chance to play with different players . I just wish Ridge would go back to the 6 inning All-Star game like they use to play for years, the last two years have not been very good games, they just let each team bat three times all the way through the line-up and it is only because Ridge always starts his opening ceremonies later then his stated starting time, then if you know Ridge like I do, ( a good friend also), he is a little windy sometimes and drags the ceremonies out just a tad too long . But again, it was a great time and was good meeting you, I will probabaly see you next year in Dalton at the All-Star game if not sooner, God willing, take care.

Hi Leo, there isn't much integrity in senior ball as everyone thinks there is, it is still about the good ole boy system and the money, just as it has always been, some things never change. You should have seen the team that won the ASA AA from Indiana, they sure looked like a Major team I saw in Champaign, Ill earlier this year.

by the way what happen to the post about the guy who said he missed Dirty and this board was a bore? , I guess you can not put anything on here negative anymore?? In fact I miss Dirty also, he kept me coming back to the board. To see what and who was going to comment, well at least he got people to comment, instead of playing trivia and patting each other on the back all the time and telling them how a great bunch of guys there are.

Discussion: Looking for a competitive 60's AAA or Major team

Hi, my name is Rabbit (Russell Wilhoit) I am looking for 60's AAA or Major team to play with in Alatomont Springsa /Orland area SPA Winter Worlds , to be held on Oct 24-27, 2009 or in the USSUA Winter Worlds in Ft. Myers in Nov.,
I have played for and coached the Indiana Classics since 1998, and I will still have the Indiana Classics in 2009 in 55 AAA, but I will be 60 in Nov and would like to play 60's for someone this winter and if possible, part time next season, when the Classics are not playing their schedule games.
I can play 1st, 3rd, pitch a little , C/ EH or play second in a pinch. I can still run well, and I am not heavy and I am not out of shape, I am a team player and will have references if needed, I am not the best player, but I am not the worse player, but I do play to win. I only asking for a try out or a chance. There are only 2 60's teams here in Indiana and they are full of players
I am not sure if the border rules apply to AAA /Major players or not, if so, the only states I could play for are, Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois , Miichigan and Indiana.
So if anyone needs a player please give me a call at 812-552-5595 or email me at russell.wilhoit.1@comcast.net. I can play at any level, AA, AAA or Major, have played in all three and probably can handle M+ as a role player.
I may also be able to bring 3 or 4 other guys from my team if needed that are turning 60 also, that have played with me for many years. But I can not promise you that for sure .

I guess it doesnt hurt to ask and that is what i am doing, just asking

Thank you for your time , Rabbit

Thanks Bull, that is what Jim Carry told me also, JB Weld, I will be trying it as soon as I get the cap and the old bat cleaned up, he said make sure you have all the old glue off and it is clean, you can use the purple pipe cleaner that they use around plastic tubing for plumbing, it cleans it real well, then put the JB Weld on real good on both the bat and the cap, push it end, and let it stand on the cap side for 24 hours, and it should be good to go. I am glad you have used it and it has held, I would hate to be called a cheater when all we are doing is trying to keep it together.
