Discussion: tournament officials

Softballer..Yes, I remember you. I'm not sure, in all the excitement, if i had a chance to say thank you for helping out.
Turns out, our guy had some severe stomach issues that night and we did get him to the hospital and he is doing fine.
Again, thank you for your help.

I did send ssusa an e-mail regarding this, but so far, they have not seen fit to reply.

Discussion: tournament officials

We played Saturday evening at Freedon park in the Vegas Worlds.
We had a guy who needed medical attention.
He didn't need a $1000.00 ambulance ride, we just needed to get him to a medical facility.
When started inquiring about a close medical facility, we discovered that all the umpiring crews were from out of town and there were, apparently, no tournament officials at the park. If they were there, they were pretty well hidden.
We finally found an umpire who thought he knew where a medical facilty was and a guy with a GPS.
Seems to me that SSUSA should have their people at all games.

Discussion: official tournament t-shirts

At the Vegas tournnament, there were a total of 6 XXL offical t-shirts for sale.
Of course, I didn't get there in time to get one.
The gal told me she quit counting after about 35 or 40 people had asked for them.
When we went to Freedom Park to play there were no shirts even offered, as far as I could tell.
They always have mediums and smalls. The teams we played didn't have too many of those.
I realize this is not an earth shaking issue, but I like to have a shirt that commemorates the tournaments in which I have participated. I don't think I own a shirt without writing on it.

Thanks, I was afraid of that.
But, then again, I've never seen a glove check.

Can someone tell me if there is an illegal length for a glove?
I don't have a rule book, but somehow I think that anything over 14" is not allowed. I hope I'm wrong.
Thanx...

Discussion: a new home run rule

I think the home run rule needs revising.
In AAA, the 1up and single just allows teams to load up with long ballers and single you to death.
Just give 5 and done. Maybe 3 in AA and let the Majors figure out what they want.
