Discussion: Knee Pain

I had the Synvic One shot in my right knee in June and it helped a lot. They tell me to get shots as long as it helps, because the next step would be a knee replacement. I just started having knee problems with my left knee the start of 2009 and thought this shot would help, but it did not help at all. I did have surgery right after the world tournament in Phoenix on my left knee. That has helped a lot. I am also playing in the TOC in Feb. My guess is depending on what kind of problem you are having with you knee it may or may not help.

Ray, you will be missed. It was always nice to see you at a few of the tournaments every year. I want to thank you for the opportunity to play with you a couple of years ago. You gave me a chance to play at that level and truly enjoyed it. You have always put a great team on the field. Take care and good luck in whatever you do.

Discussion: Does anyone here play ball with their son(s)?

Joncon I also play with my 2 sons, but I was the one that got them to start playing with me. We have played as high as class B in USSSA. It is and has been a lot of fun playing with them. I do hope I will have the chance to play Senior ball with them, but not sure they will make it that long. LOL

Discussion: BAN THE ULTRA

Stick it was good to see you the past two weekends, you are hard to get out as we could not do it in either of the games we played you. You have a very interesting post, because even as an infielder you can not cover very much area with the U2. I do swing it because it is the best legal bat out their for me and like hitting the long ball. I do love to play defense though and the U2 takes away much of the defense in the infield also. I would be comfortable hitting my freak that I use in USSSA. Lecak and Eiinstein it was great meeting you guys, sound like you started playing after your first loss on Saturday. Sorry to hear your team is breaking up. Ray it was also good to visit with you also. Look forward to seeing everyone again next year.

Discussion: Ultra 11 Legacy

I have an ultra 11 legacy bat I purchased March12th, 2008 and have the receipt. It is a 28oz bat and I have only swung it about thirty times in BP. The bat does swing lighter than the 28pz Ultra 11 and it is just to light for me. This bat has never been hit in a game. I used one of my teammates 30 oz legacy and that swings about the same as the 28oz Ultra 11. I would like to trade for a 29 or 30oz legacy in same condition, or a new in wrapper Ultra 11 28oz or would be willing to sell the bat for $200.00 shipping included. I will never use this bat so would like to get something I can use. You can contact me at rgottschalk@media-net.net or call me at 785-432-0822.

I am planning on buying an Ultra 2, but would like some advice on the better of the three bats the Legacy, Advanced and just the Ultra 2. I see the advanced has a 1 yr warranty, but is it as good as the Ultra 2. Thank you for any help.

Discussion: wanted top players infeild & outfeild

I am from Hays Kansas and am looking for a team to play with. I played shortstop for Geckle Builders from Michigan in the U-Trip world tournament last year as they picked me up since they lost their shortstop. We played super major and took 3rd and I made all tournament team. I could not play with them in USSSA, because they played Major. I then went to the Vegas world and the world tournament in Phoenix with Pilchers from Colorado (shortstop) last year. We played super major in the 50 and over. They have several players that are moving to 55 and over and will lost most their players. I would like to play super major if I find a team, but if not would be nice to play for a more local team. Not sure how the rules work if I can now play AAA. I do play regular mens and play mostly in the KC area that is 4 hours for me, but worth it to me so I can play with and against the B and C teams. I play 3rd and short for the regular mens team. I also played with the Dodge City Bud team, but we just play in the 40 or 45 and over state tournament even though we are all over 50. If anyone is looking for an infielder you can contact me at rgottschalk@media-net.net

Looking to buy a bat and was going to get the Ultra II. Can anyone tell me the difference between the Ultra II (2004) and the Ultra II Advanced (2007). Is it just the year made or is there a difference in the bats. Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the kind words Cognac Lite. I just got back from playing this past weekend in Milwaukee in the USSSA Super Major 50 and over this past weekend with Gekle Builders from Michigan. I was told by the coach that he contacted me because of your post and I greatly appreciate that. Good luck to you and you team for the rest of this summer. Hope we can play together again sometime.
I would like to thank Ray and his team for asking me and taking a chance with me as they had lost their shortstop to injury. They were a great team to play for and I am glad I got the chance to play with them. Hopefully things will work out and I will be able to play with them again.
This was a great tournament as all the teams were very evenly matched. Congratulations to Butch’s Bulldogs/linedrive sportz as they won this tournament. We had a very good game with them in the Semi-finals as they ended up beating us by 1.
I really enjoyed meeting a lot of the senior softball players and visiting with them. It is obvious that it is the love and respect of the game that keeps everyone playing and just makes for a great atmosphere. I am not use to this as you do not find very many like this at the regular men’s level that I always play. I got to visit with several guys from the Randy Smith team, what a great bunch of guys. We had a great game with them also as this one we were able to hold them off.
I found this message board by searching on Google. Not sure who runs this site, but thanks it gives this great senior softball group of guys a way to stay in touch. Living in central Kansas it has given me an opportunity to play in the senior softball and hope it can lead many more opportunities for me.

I am looking for a team to play with in any national or world tournaments. I am from Kansas and have played at class C and B mens teams for last several years. I am an infielder and play anywhere, but have always played SS or 3rd. I do play a lot of ball average about 160 games a year. I am currently playing on a C team. I have been playing for a Masters USSSA team from Kansas(besides regular mens and co-ed) and was told we did not have the funds to go to world this year. Our team has won 2 45&over world tournaments one in 2003 and also last year. In 2003 I made the all tournament team and lasts year was the MVP. I am now 51 and would be willing to play 40, 45 or 50 and over. Have only played USSSA and ASA, but willing to play any Ass. My e-mail is rgottschalk@media-net.net Will travel anywhere for right tournament.
