| June 14, 2013 LP | Topic: Website comments Discussion: ratings I just recieved and e-mail about the ratings, again we were declined to go from AAA to AA. i cant get there math right, must be new math, for we have been run ruled twice in qualifiers and by 9 runs in another game. the only games we have won was a AA team and we played them three times in the same tournament, and thats the only games we have won all year. So tell me, please someone how thats right. Texas Pickups 60's |
| June 10, 2013 LP | Topic: Website comments Discussion: ratings beg to differ BigD1957 i have had a AA team playing AAA for years. have been recommended by the TD for us to go AA by falls on deaf ears, but i did get a letter after the phoenix worlds one time because of our dismal year ssusa was dropping us to AA. well since we got turned down on appeal before the worlds, this didnt do us much good.the next year we went to a different age level and and still playing AAA with AA team, but we still play.not gripping just responding |
| May 31, 2013 LP | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Heart of Texas (Georgetown) i heard that a 55AAA had to play against a 40's major team if thats so i'll bet the extra guy or 6 runs didnt make much of a differance. |
| May 22, 2013 LP | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Heart of Texas (Georgetown) well said Transplant we played in the 60's division and got the same format, makes one wonder how many teams like to pay $350.00 for a single elimination tournament |
| May 20, 2013 LP | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: San Antonio Classic would have liked to play in this tournament but just heard about it sat. to short of notice our guys had already made other plans. |
| Feb. 9, 2013 LP | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Ratings SSUSA can someone answer the above question for me, thanks |
| Feb. 6, 2013 LP | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Ratings I read the ratings review and i understand it,except is it just for SSUSA tournaments or is SPA taken into count also. Because here in Texas there is only one SSUSA tournament before june. SSUSA can you answer this for me please. |
| Dec. 30, 2012 LP | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Texas in January i believe the winter texans have a league going on in harlingen or brownsville,or group in corpus christi wont start up till the end of febuary. we are a bunch of fair weather players. |
| Dec. 26, 2012 LP | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: AAA HR rule question as a coach and a player i would like the count to stay at 0-0. as a pitcher i want to nibble at the corners.and as a batter i want to look at as many pitches as i can to make my best selection of pitched balls. and maybe because of the $325.00 to $695.00 per tournament i dont want to speed the game up any faster than it is. |
| Dec. 20, 2012 LP | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Texas State Championship-2013 if the fields are in bad shape as i read this you have to wonder why would a texas state tournament be held at such a place? |
| Dec. 19, 2012 LP | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: What did you do in your last at bat? #6 that was , what maybe 2010 |
| Dec. 9, 2012 LP | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: AAA Home Run Outs SSUSA changed the home run rule by gauging vegas, SSUSA changed the ball used in vegas from the trump stote that has been used for a long time,to the evil rock ball which is a hotter ball. plus the fences at the field of dreams complex is under 300 feet, add this together it give a false reading on how teams hit home runs from the year before |
| Dec. 4, 2012 LP | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Grading the Rule Changes LeeLee as i posted above it was the change in the ball is why so many home runs were hit, i hope this is a one time deal with the evil rock ball its to hot of a ball to use senior bats with |
| Dec. 3, 2012 LP | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Grading the Rule Changes I Think one important reason was over looked, SSUSA said there were a more than normal home runs hit in the vegas world tournament. SSUSA changed from the stote trump ball to the evil rock ball which is hotter that the stote,we have banned it from our league play and i have spoken with teams in other parts of the country that have banned it also. So the amount of home runs hit it vegas was not with ball hit with in most tournament. So everything is misleading on the home run totals. |
| Dec. 3, 2012 LP | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Toys for Tots this past weekend we held a toys for tots softball tournament in corpus christi texas. had 7 60s and 3 50+ teams. they donated 240 + toys and $50 cash a local fire truck came and picked up the toys,it was a great weekend for the old guys and for the kids. we used a differant ball it was a rubber ball so everyone was on an even basis.the 60's winner was the Sharks a local team, and the 50 + winner was ole skool from san antonio, thanks to all. this was called the world mushball tournament, thus no home runs were hit.oh yeah this also was a ring option tournament |
| Nov. 30, 2012 LP | Topic: Product review Discussion: Softballs Capt Kirk dont over think this ball any bat will do and it wont hurt your bat. come have some fun and leave the worries behind. |
| Nov. 17, 2012 LP | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Awards for championship teams you actually get less awards in the winter worlds than you do in most qualifiers.when we won the winter world in vegas we got a tote bag and 2nd got a hat no all tourneys no mvps not even anything saying that you were even there very dissapointing |
| Nov. 17, 2012 LP | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Update from USSSA National Convention we dont play u-trip dought if we ever will. if everyone wants a screen for the pitcher, which i wouldnt want, why not just play with a rubber coated softball if your afraid of the regular ball. |
| Nov. 12, 2012 LP | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Why so few AA teams I think because of most of the teams play locally in there home stae, that is all that SSUSA or others have to rely on for a rating . But since the other teams that you play may not be as high of caliber as when you get to the worlds, you really dont know what you have as far as a rating goes. And gary19 is a Jerk for all of his comments. |
