| April 13, 2009 AlleninGa | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Good sunglasses I tried a lot of different sunglasses in the low to medium price range......none of them "held up"....I liked some of them to begin with, but the covering on the lens'was inferior and didn't last. Some were too heavy...others didn't hold the shape, etc, etc.....I finally decided that I was going find a pair that I liked and pay the price...no matter what. I looked at them all and settled on the "Maui Jims".....they are pricey but are by far the best I've used....light weight, fit great and handle the glare exceptionally well. My eyes are sensitive to glare and these solve that problem. It's all about the lense and you get what you pay for.....Some less expensive glasses give a distorted image. Good luck on your search...it's not as easy as one might think. |

My favorite was the Tanel 360 until I tried the 3N2 Turf shoe. It is by far my favorite to date....I find it light weight and very comfortable...........I also think it is a good looking shoe. |

I believe the primary purpose of the 1-1 is to move the game along which it may or may not do. There are other ways to do that, like hustling. From a hitters view point....looking for your pitch is part of the concept. The 1-1 "somewhat" takes that away. A hitter is lucky if he gets "one" good pitch per bat with the 0-0 count. If the pitcher is really....he probaly won't get any with the 1-1, unless the pitcher makes a mistake. |

A lot of dedicated ball players both young and older (even a couple in their 70's). I really respect those guys. No whinners in the crowd......You'll have to humor Dirty; he's a "tick turd" caught in a time warp:-)......although, he can be amusing if you don't take him seriously.....You have to realize that he's bitter because he can't compete at the tournament level no matter how good the equipment is.....he's scared of the competition and feels comfortable hiding in rec ball (plus the tournament teams cut him because of attitude and lack of prduction)...Now you can sit back and muse at his pompous posts:-) By the way, does the ASA senior assoc. in your area allow any senior bats? At any rate...if you get to play where the senior bats are allowed....use them and draw your own conclusions.....Also, senior tournaments are every bit as much fun as when we played in the early days. I hope you are able to play in some. This website is a good place to let teams know you want to play. Good luck this season. |

The U2 is definitely too hot for 25 year olds plus the bat is so fragile...they would be breaking them constantly. "Most" players over 50 aren't going to hit the ball as hard as 25 or even 40 year olds. The extra "pop" of senior bats affords the "senior" players the opportunity to relive the "feeling" of driving the ball hard. The U2 is the most controversial of all of the Senior bats and will continue to be so....It is also the most popular. Lots of seniors use it and don't hit HR's. Also, lots of HR's are hit with bats other than U2's, there are some really good senior hitters. I love to hit with senior bats and welcome the increased intensity to the senior game that it brings, but I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of a 25 or even 40 year old using it. You will love 50+ softball......get the bat...but wait for 60 degrees befor you use it. Our league starts March 10th and we have a tournament in Montgomery the weekend of the 14th... I can't wait. |

The majority of players that play into their senior years don't waste their time finding fault with the game. They appreciate the game and everything it has to offer.
